My best guess is friends hiring friends of friends and a big dash of cronyism.I never heard of NervousTraschat or Okami_Shiranui though. Low mastery, mods.
Where the fuck these people came from?

NervousTraschat - Silver Initiate (Rank 2)
Telluric - Silver Seeker (Rank 14)
Shadow - Initiate (Rank 1)
Bear - Juggerdaddy (Not an attainable rank)
Okami_Shiranui - Silver Initiate (Rank 2)
TFW you're a higher rank then almost every chat mod. That's fucking ridiculous without any of this other information, how the fuck are you a Lotus guide if you're Mastery Rank 2? What do you even know about the game at that point? That's what @Jaimas, an hour of play or so?
Moral of the story: Don't hire Snowflake tumblrina genderspecials. Ever.
I moderated Warframe's chats even before I was a moderator. I would sit in region and relay for hours, choosing not to play the game in lieu of watching others who would seek to harm or belittle others. In the case of _Frost_Prime_, I even chose to give up sleep so that I could catch them in relay chat being ugly towards other players. I had a hand in them being permabanned, and I was just a simple player back then.
For MR3 you need 17500 total mastery. Getting a weapon to level 30 gives you 3000 and getting a frame to 30 gives you 6000. Hell even completing a junction gives you 1000 mastery. So you could get to MR3 with nothing but getting your starter gear to 30 and unlocking 3 planets.
Here's an idea: someone say "I'm gay" in global chat and see what happens.I got temp-banned from Warframe's global chat for saying "gay"
10/10 moderating
There was an instance of Fortuna, number 69. Of course people would joke, saying "nice." in chat. This lead to prompting to be banned, and upon questioning they were given the return of "Spam is spam." Here's a thread about "mod's dictatorships", which also touches up upon them banning people on Warframe's official forums (archive link)
In Warframe, in order to unlock stuff, like reserve slots and better gear, you actually have to do what Warframe calls Mastery Rank tests. You can do one a day and they each impart a new rank once beaten. A few of the later tests (Rank 13 in particular) are trial-and-error nonsense that you can't do without knowing what to do beforehand, but for the most part they're pretty straightforward. Each test gives a number of benefits once passed, including unlocking new gear for use, giving you more reserve slots, and making it easier to level up new equipment. To boost Mastery Rank, you just need to level up equipment, then take the test when you've done it enough. That is literally all you need to do.
Now, there are work-arounds for Mastery Rank. For example, if you want to use a weapon that's way above your MR rating right now, you can still purchase it directly from the shop using Platinum, WF's premium currency. The interesting thing however is that Mastery Rank is a pretty good visual representation for how dedicated a player is, up until around Rank 14 or so, when the actual benefits of MR rankings become less tangible and are really solely there for bragging rights. I bring all this shit up, however, because if you look at the Mastery Ranks of the Warframe Chat Mods involved in this debacle, a pattern quickly emerges:
NervousTraschat - Silver Initiate (Rank 2)
Telluric - Silver Seeker (Rank 14)
Shadow - Initiate (Rank 1)
Bear - Juggerdaddy (Not an attainable rank)
Okami_Shiranui - Silver Initiate (Rank 2)
Server - Disciple (Rank 7)
Most of WF's chat mods have hundreds, if not thousands of hours of play according to their Steam profiles, but Telluric and maybe Bear aside, the overpowering majority of them are either at entry rank or a rank that your average newcomer could match in about a day of casual gameplay. This means they're specifically being put there in order to shit up region chat, and being put there above people who are actually playing the game. I'm not 100% on why DE keeps allowing this crap to happen, beyond the fact that [DE]Danielle is a Tumblrette and that the asshole behind the chatbot, [DE]Glen, is a borderline lolcow himself according to the subreddit.
Also mastery 1-8 are piss easy to get
You don't pay guinea pigs. You use them.I dunno, what if you have a company that makes chemical weapons and you need human test subjects?
To them being a Space-Ninja is less of a power fantasy than roleplaying as this guy:Community managers being utmost faggots that don't know how to play the game? Color me shocked. Also mastery 1-8 are piss easy to get. The hilarity of this is insane. You can level up your Warframe and weapons to 30 really easy. It isn't that hard. The hours they spend are honestly just bullshitting, they aren't playing.

What this implies is that Telluric and Server quite literally had a massive sperg-out and meltdown over the community of a game they each put well over 3500 hours into because the community would not tolerate their systemic attempts to turn region chat into yet another hugbox, and that's fucking hilarious. It also puts this quote that @Doomfist noted from Telluric make much more sense:
It's quite possible that the original drive to put the likes of Telluric and friends into place is because they have absolutely no offline lives, and there was money to be saved by putting such individuals in charge, not that this turned out to be a particularly good option on retrospect.
The people that want to moderate are probably the worst people for the job.How much of a fucking faggot loser do you have to be to sacrifice your sleep to moderate chat for free? Jesus fucking christ. Yeah, that's more than likely why they were chosen. Specifically because they had no lives. Problem was all they wanted to do was police others and not make a good community.
As evidenced by how many players they have pissed off despite wielding the tiny smidgin of power that is chat moderation in Warframe. The people that want to moderate are probably the worst people for the job.
