And why Vinny (and I think Joel and maybe a couple of others on VS) pretty much don't even interact in or go into Discord save for mod stuff like co-op streaming.

Plus with all the shit going on with discord anyway, why risk getting caught up in the sexpest and #metoo drama?

They're definitely right about him being horrified at the ahegao shirt guys and unfunny Reddit users, but wrong about everything else. I think Vinny just hates every single fan he has. He loves them for supporting his career, but he sure does not like them as people. And he's right.

I feel like a similar thing happened during monke stream, when chat was going on about monkey tits or something and a chat member brought up children watching Vinny's stream. And he just pointed out(with snark)that his streams are 18+.
I noticed atleast 2 mods in chat basically going "yeah gtfo cunts".

And yet because they chose to have a partnered discord server it's the other way around when it comes to age.

Vinny's streams are literally marked for "mature audiences," too - he's done everything a guy can to let it be known that his streams and videos contain adult humor, like dick jokes and stuff. Beyond that, he is not responsible for who is watching his streams, and people pretending that that's the case are delusional. It's not like he's going into kids' games and talking about porn or whatever the fuck.

While the Vinecord is a hellscape of embarrassing proportions, I do appreciate that they at least know and acknowledge that many kids DO watch his stuff, so they try to regulate the Vinecord and make sure no freaky shit is going on there. If it was unofficial, they could do whatever they wanted, but it would definitely be a massive risk and reflect poorly on him if it was barely-modded and some shit popped off because no one's paying attention. He's keeping his nose clear, and that's the mark of a smart man.

Haven't been watching alot of Vinny lately, but I really enjoy his 7D2D streams. Even I think him getting a half dozen of mods playing with him has made it too easy and he will end up getting burnt out on it quick. But that damn Monke stream.. holy shit haven't laughed this hard since months.

I have zero evidence to go along with this, it's a total shot in the dark. but:

It'd be kinda funny if that was his way of announcing he'd come into contact with the actor behind Rem Lezar or someone who was involved in the production with it and as a result has a plethora of Rem Lezar lore and details behind the character. That'd be great. Exactly the kind of thing I imagine Vinny would enjoy reading through on his downtime. This is unlikely though, because I don't know the context around Rem Lezar and the chat jokes that became context for the joke that may shift what it means. I.E, Rem Lezar has become a chat in-joke for being stoned or something. No clue.

Then again I haven't watched streams in a while. I want to catch up on the Phasmophobia streams he did because the game looks fun and I want to see his experience with it. I also want to watch the Spelunky 2 streams since Splanky was the main game back when I initially got into Vinesauce. Comfy streams way back in the Livestream/Chatango/Autopilot days.
I think he just got ahold of some pot or something but alright

Don't know if anyone's noticed this, but Limes lost her Twitch Staff status. The wrench doesn't show up near her name anymore. Guess she got tired of it, if one actually DOES anything as Twitch Staff.

Which is ironic because ahegao shirts is the exact level of humor and maturity that fits Tumblr. I hung around a lot of questioning guys in my teens, and as soon as they realized they could get reactions by acting The Big Gay in game servers and voice calls, they made it their personality. That's the same level of reaction-baiting that people who think ahegao is funny has. "W-wait, I can talk about porn as if nothing and get reactions!?". I've more respect for people who crop hentai as their profile picture and move on with their lives. Vinny may have had sperg furry moderators, but at least they were upfront about it.

She works at Twitch IRL iirc. It does seem a bit counter-intuitive to have the badge of staff displaying as a verified streamer when that alone already puts you in a very respected group of people and gets you immediate attention when visiting other streamers. If anything, being related to the business side of things would be detrimental to your clout.

I know it's not on him, but he's really not helping the case. He's a manchild, playing in a band, streaming majorly Nintendo-esque indie games, while his humor is "haha fart" most of the time. Being a Vinesauce fan is a very, very descriptive trait these days, because that's a very niche appeal; finding jabroni and Danny DeVito fucking hilarious. Regrettably, I still make use of Second Life now and then, and while hugely anecdotal, it hits the exact point of the Vinesauce audience, I feel.

Second Life is a 3D chat advertising itself as a way to socialize while literally every aspect of it is hugely sexual, but in such a way that it almost comes across as normal. Where do we see this? Furries, weebs, 'memers', ahegao shirt-wearers. And all these are big groups in SL. It's made up of subcommunities that are all bound in porn andn can be categorized into two groups: "I'm here for the porn and wear the avatar that reflects that" and "I'm so used to porn it doesn't strike me as abnormal and I'm here as 'me' and want to advertise as such". Furries with oversized dicks on display in public, part of several meme groups, describes themselves as 'thicc' and have a Vinesauce mushroom in their digital apartment.

You could honestly tell me that Vinesauce is an adult stream to my face and I still wouldn't believe it. Sodapoppin is a top 10/world streamer who goes on VRchat and talks about jerking off. His audience is ~14-18 year olds, and he's more typically adult than Vinny could ever be. Vinny celebrates cute games, art and drawings, inside jokes, and "haha chungus". He slapped a +18-only sticker on his kids' show just to get away with a dick joke now and then. It's honestly a cop-out. "Why does this birthday party full of ballons and mascots have an age requirement of 18?", and then when someone starts whippin their dick out they can go "You saw the sign!".

The entire Vinesauce team lives in their own little weird bubble. None of them play by the same rules as single streamers, but Vinny especially seems to consider himself so far out from Twitch whereas the others, such as Limes, typically just comes across as a quiet small-time streamer with no real conflicts. Joel is a bit more vocal about his expectations of his audience, whereas Vinny seems to just fucking loathe streaming and interacting yet does nothing to change his way or enforce a change in behavior. "Yo guys, I've recently seen a lot of debate about the contents of this channel-" etc.

Literally nowhere on his channel does it imply it's a mature stream. His icon is a fucking Mario mushroom for crying out loud. Even his "community issues" google doc doesn't address anything to do with content. I don't receive an age-check upon going to the channel, but even if that's all he did to get his point across, it's yet again a complete cop-out. People automatically click through age-gating constantly. In general Vinny just isn't a likeable guy or a good streamer? Corruptions is his whole schtick and yet again, a very child-friendly category of content that doesn't help cementing his "We're adults actually" trump card.

Vinny celebrates cute games
Ah yes, cute games like, uh, Silent Hill, and 7 Days to Die. Not gonna dispute that the art is like that though.
Vinny seems to just fucking loathe streaming and interacting
He constantly says how much he enjoys streaming. And usually genuinely thanks people for watching him at the same time.

Honestly it just seems like you're bitter and don't actually like his humor, which is fine, but extrapolating that out into opinions that make it clear you've barely watched him is ridiculous.

*You forgot to mention that he has a tendency to get emotional over minor things on stream. Probably just an Italian thing /sneed, but it can disrupt the stream and be annoying.

Vinny celebrates cute games, art and drawings, inside jokes, and "haha chungus".
*To be fair, Vinny vinesauce maymays do in fact have an expiration date to them before he gets tired of them. It'll take quite some time, but it's alot sooner than most professional video game playing funnymen.

You could honestly tell me that Vinesauce is an adult stream to my face and I still wouldn't believe it.
*I fucking feel you on that one. It honestly does have elements of middle/high school level zoomertainment that become ever more apparent in recent years, but the biggest contributor to that is the fanbase. Vinesauce groups and tags are at least 40% lol so randum humor, cringy memes, bad fanart, or a combination of the three and it's always so safe. This is in combination of the fact that a good sized chunk of the viewers are minors and they make that known (the discord especially) so it does lead a few to question what the target demographic for their streams really is. People who have never heard of vinesauce would take one look at ether of these communities and think that Vinny/Joel/whatever are just markiplier wannabes (who also has a large minor fanbase) and move on without looking further. This can also be applied to the videos the main channel to a lesser degree, but it really depends. The overall theme emanating from vinesauce as a whole is humorous and immature, and if that doesn't attract some kiddos that really shouldn't be watching them but still do so rebeliously, it will attract young twenty-somethings that are still stuck in the 8th grade mentally. Blah blah vicious cycle blah blah ain't what it used to be blah blah kids these days blah.

*IMO

We're gonna have to agree to disagree on the cropped hentai avi thing. That's another level of obnoxious degeneracy.

Anyway, the "Big Gay" meme you're describing is just an old holdout from /a/ and Gachimuchi culture. Joel does that sort of thing himself. I would argue that it's very different than the ahegao thing, because pretending to be gay for the bit isn't inherently sexual, while ahegao obviously is - and on top of that, the people pretending to be gay for a laff, even if they're overly sexual/horny with their jokes, are generally not actually like that, which is why the joke is funny (and this is true in the case of Joel). In my experience, people who have cropped hentai avis and wear ahegao shirts tend to be unironically obsessed with hentai, to the point that it's very clearly something they actually get off on, not something they're doing just for the funnies.

Joel is honestly the best example of this. I remember when he confused everyone around New Year's Eve of 2014 by saying
"you know, it's like when you're high on meth and suddenly find yourself jacking off to tranny porn in the corner. Doesn't mean you're gay." (dear god please let someone find an archive of his 2014 stuff soon) :story:

Holy shit, I completely forgot he said that. You just unearthed a long-buried memory I didn't even know I had!

I do miss all the gachi jokes, to be honest. I know he still makes them sometimes, but they're much rarer now, largely because his humor has advanced beyond just parroting things he saw on 4chan. I'm grateful for that, but it's a little bittersweet because those dumb /a/ jokes (and the gachi stuff in particular) are one of the big reasons I started watching Joel in the first place - that was a huge part of my sense of humor when I first stumbled upon his streams, and when I heard him make one it locked me in for the long haul. Now here I still am, almost ten years later... love wins :heart-full:

Anyway, I can't believe Joel is gay in REAL LIFE. That's crazy, bro. :smug: (edit: typo)

Whoo boy, some classic game commercial had a background comment that went like "Middle aged men want to be little girls?!" (Which is actually scarily accurate for 2020) and chat exploded.

It's amazing how the phrase "tranny porn" is the quickest way to get both sides of the political autism spectrum to absolutely despise you.

Between that and "Boku no Pico" getting brought up at the same time because of Sega Pico, Vinny just completely noped out lol

I got confused during the chat explosion because the part of that vid with the middle-aged men went by so fast I didn't immediately catch it,
and so I thought people in chat were crying over transphobia in relation to Boku no Pico at first.

I love the commercial segment but I was so exhausted last night I couldn't stay up and watch the rest of the stream, so I'm about to start the Fullsauce video now.
