Yeesh, Joel's Fortnite stream is miserable. I don't know why he streamed it. It clearly isn't his type of game so he played it just for "da may mays" but he also instates a stupid rule where he can't joke about the game at all to "give it a fair shot".

So you just have a dry no jokes stream where Joel awkwardly chuckles and just plays the game. Thrilling. Maybe it'll get better, but considering the stream is only 3 hours long AND includes meme house I think it'll be mercifully short.

It was a charity incentive.

Don't know why its miserable since the "game" is fine, its what you make of it with your own squad, maybe he doesn't want the viewers to enjoy it either so it doesn't get requested again. Which is what I would do haha

I will say my favorite thing about the stream was how insanely good he was at it. Extra funny considering how bad he usually is at games that he's not familiar with. I guess I just prefer Joel when he's being way less grounded and more insane, and that Fortnite stream was as sober as I've seen Joel in a while.

Oh I totally get it, honestly if he was losing over and over while not having much fun it I don't think I would have been entertained at all. Mostly I was captivated by how he won his second game outright without even knowing the basic mechanics of how to play.

The minute Joel stops trying is the minute that he overtakes everyone else. Lest we forget that this is the guy who forced himself to plow through multiple Kaizo Mario games and other impossibly hard Mario games, to the point that I recall him having died somewhere close to 200 times before he finally completed Bowser's castle. (Don't quote me on the number - it was an unreasonably high number for sure, but I don't remember if it was exactly 200.) Fortnite is probably a cakewalk by comparison.

That comment section is plagued with furries that seem to be alright with it. I wasn't involved in the community during the chatango days
but from what I know, there were furries hanging around back then that either migrated from 4chan or got introduced by someone in the chat/on the team
to Vinny's streams. There's surely a more detailed explanation or theory about how the furry explosion started( in this thread), but they've been hanging around for a long time.

Word of mouth and no-context vinesauce clips being shot around twitter is the most likely explanation. Maybe even some bleed-through from the degenerates that plague Jerma's chat thanks to Hbomberfuck.

Administration within mods/charity/discord is filled to the brim with Furries and tranies that got introduced early and got a spot on the team when Vin popularity started to spike and the team expanded into individual channels so they needed more folks who wheren't complete randoms or absolute spergs, of course they keep their powerlevel down while on the job but their twitter circles are all full of furries who get introduced to Vinesauce. The furry vinesauce circle is just a gradually increasing thing, now that mainstream media is promoting degeneracy and erasing the stigma they made everyone come out of the closet and post their diaper, zoofilia and pedophilia fetishes on twitter so it seems like it suddenly exploded, but its always been there and slowly creeping up

There have always been a big chunk of Vinesauce fans who were also furries. That's why Vinny is so comfortable making jokes about it - there's little to no footage of him cracking jokes about any of the newer fans, like younger users and the Tumblr users specifically, but there's plenty of him teasing his furry-aligned fanbase. Vinny doesn't care about it, and never has, because it's always been a part of Vinesauce. Vappy was a known furry, and he got promoted to an editing position in spite of it, because he'd been around since the beginning. There's a lot more overlap between Vinesauce (Vinny's fans specifically) and furries than I think most of his fans realize, or at the very least, that most of his fans are willing to accept.

Remember that these guys got started on /v/, and in the very early 2010s, no less. They weren't exactly picking and choosing who their fans would be. Whoever watched their streams is whoever they got, and they wouldn't have turned away longstanding fans just because they liked anthro shit. It's funny to see people treat it like a surprise; you don't have to do very much digging into old Vinesauce content to see Vinny and even Joel acknowledging that many of their fans are into that kind of stuff. If it had been a recent development, I think we'd be much harder pressed to see any kind of commentary on the shifting of the fanbase, but the fact that Vinny was at one point comfortable enough to make a joke video teasing those kinds of fans makes it pretty clear that he was well-aware of how his fanbase leaned, and didn't care. At the end of the day, furries are both ubiquitous and harmless - I think any streamer would rather be a magnet for furries than for other groups like pedos or white supremacists. He made it out pretty easy when you think of it that way.
