Bro, go outside and get some fresh air.
My job is actually mostly in the woods, but enough about myself.

I recall Joel mentioning in a recent stream that he would livestream himself cooking a Turkey, though I may be confusing him with Nick Rekieta but I swear Joel promised a Christmas cooking stream. Does anybody else recall a similar promise and if so does anyone think he would actually deliver on a charity incentive for once?

Also I wanted to point out that the Scythelord Twitter officially announced the release of the first single from their new album on December 20th. Tweet

I would bet actual money that Joel is not going to do any kind of live stream, regardless of his face showing. Given some comments he made in offstream chat, some of which saisegeha here capped, he's so put off by how some people in chat and in the community obsess over seeing his face that he wouldn't want to do a face cam stream. As for his not showing his face and doing it anyway, I think he said on stream that he thought about it and realized the setup would be too much of a pain in the ass.

It kind of sucks because I like to watch cooking streams, but I can see why.

But, once again, he's got to know that it's partially his own fault for promising these things in the first place. Pretty much every thing the fans have been expecting have been streams he's promised to do for his charity incentives, and he is YEARS behind on quite a few of them, particularly the facecam ones. I completely understand not wanting to do them, and he is in no way beholden to his fanbase's desire to see him do a facecam stream - but if he wants to silence the requests, he needs to stop promising that he's going to do them in the first damn place.

I do really enjoy Joel's content, and for the most part I agree with the direction he's taken his channel in and the decisions he's made when it comes to handling fan interaction, but this is one thing that drives me up the fucking wall. The whole point of charity incentives is to actually DO the incentive. I'm not complaining about the ones he ended up doing in a jokey way, like his "tall jump" (which was fucking phenomenal), but the ones he promised and simply never did. Vinny is guilty of this too, but I find that Joel just does it way more often, so it bugs me.

Don't get me wrong, I completely agree he should live up to them or at least announce he's going to do them differently from how they could be interpreted. The facecam thing he did do I was completely expecting, as it's within Joel's tendency to troll a little, but I think he owes it to the people looking forward to the other ones to make a statement of some kind.

Then again, knowing his distaste for planning literally anything, I'm not holding my breath.

idubbbz still openly follows Joel on Twitter. I'm surprised people haven't lost their minds and called Joel an evil racist, or whatever. You would think it would have happened back when the whole Tana Mangeau situation happened. I guess even if people have noticed, it went nowhere, ultimately.

Idubbbz was also listed as an associated channel on exinthevatican as recently as last year, but it appears that that's no longer the case. He was on there for a few years, probably since a little before his appearance in that "Best of" video (I think it was 2015, but don't quote me on that), so someone must've brought it to his attention and Joel quietly took him off that list. It was definitely a publicity move to cover his ass, but it's also possible that they already weren't really buddies anymore and so Joel felt no need to defend him. Joel can't really do anything about idubbbz following him on Twitter sans blocking him, and that just seems a bit excessive. Idubbbz is obnoxious as fuck, but not dangerous to anyone, so Joel's in the clear with that situation as long as he doesn't publicly engage with him anymore.

It could probably work like Big Jump as in Jobel making a funni with just audio and not as true (and honest) stream.

I dont follow him outside yt and occasional stream so Im not sure what he promised.

I've enjoyed Vinny's streams for years but lately it feels like he's a lot more negative or gets roped into the chat's negativity more often. It's not that he's not allowed to chime in on controversies, but at some point it starts to feel repetitive. He will call out obvious bait for being obvious bait but still respond to it. Also I agree with how it's hypocritical of him to get annoyed at chinese bootlegs having gacha mechanics while also shitting on nintendo for defending their IPs from fangame makers and romhackers.

Vinny criticises nintendo but worships them. I'm doubtful him streaming romhacks and fan games gets them removed because Nintendo is a corporate machine, but he fears legal reprecussions nonetheless.

Didn't Nintendo retaliate against him somehow in the past? I might be misremembering, but I thought there was an incident where Vinny had his channel hit with a takedown notice for a sizable portion of his Nintendo-related streams (which, since it's Vinny, is a massive portion of all of his content), which sort of disillusioned him to Nintendo as a company. Again, I may be remembering this wrong, but I'm fairly certain he's already had to deal with the Nintendo beast.

IIRC, it happened around the time when he hosted a Super Mario Bros. X contest in 2015. Mario Maker was set to release soon, so I think Nintendo was cracking down hard on channels that showcased romhacks of any kind-- which Vinny was playing a lot of back then.

I get why he defends Nintendo the way that he does, but I wouldn't go as far as to say he worships them. Like, yeah there's a bias in his opinion, but he's aware enough from his own experiences and others' to call out their flaws.

My buddy and I disagree on the degree to which Vinny is a Nintendo fanboy. He does play a lot of stuff the second it gets dropped onto the Switch, but he also didn't go out and buy a Switch Lite and if he doesn't care to play a game he tends to avoid it most of the time.
Nintendo fan, yes. Fanboy, no. I think he grew out of it if he was. He likes to play on Switch though, and I understand that. It's a nice console.

I kind of realized earlier this week that Sims 4 Meme House is Joel's Tomodachi Life. It has the same insanity and comparable fan-craziness surrounding it. I wonder if it'll play out the same way and still be remembered 5 years later.

This is Kiwi Farms, not your vent blog
Let him vent, this is the Kiwi Farms. Maybe we'll find something interesting on him instead, he acts like a watered down lolcow too.

Just kidding, dude's probably a let down fan that probably think of vinny as his 'best friend forever',like half chat does, but opened his eyes and saw that streamers don't usually hang out with chat, especially crazy like him.
No proof no claim my dude, this is one of the first rules of the internet, you should know since you say that you're 'friend with vin'.

Yeah, I agree with you.

Did anyone happen to catch Joel doing a Q & A with Scythelord on Twitch yesterday? Is there a VOD or will there be a VOD uploaded at any point?

I did and a chat member recorded almost all of it. When I get home I'll have a download link for you.

Thank god - I unfortunately missed most of it but I caught the very beginning of it. It's really amazing hearing Joel talk about his passion; his tone of voice is totally different, and there's no hint of sarcasm in what he's saying whatsoever. He just genuinely loves doing it. It's great to hear someone care so much about their art.

Awesome! Thank you. I couldn't watch it, so it'll be nice to catch up on the hype.

Although I don't really tune in to Joel's stuff as much these days, there's something really charming and heartwarming about hearing Joel speak so fondly about his musical endeavors when he has the chance to do so. It's a nice change of pace from his usual stream antics, and I didn't really hear him speak much about music when I used to watch him back in the day compared to Vinny at least (or maybe I was selectively hearing things then).

Here is an audio-only upload of the Scythelord Q&A stream. It's missing the first 5 or so minutes but that's just Joel rambling a bit. It includes both songs from the new single, and the entirety of the question and answer segment. There was nothing but the single's album cover on stream so you're not missing any video.

If this download link breaks or is in any way acting shitty let me know and I'll find an alternative way to share it.

Edit: Forgot to mention I also happen to have the chat log saved; there's a lot of memery but if you're at all interested in what the 400-700 some odd people had to ask them that they didn't answer, or whatever, I can also upload that.

And FWIW, Frank's other band, Luxrem, has a single out that I think is incredible.

god fuckin damn, one thing that irritates me is joel cutting off mid sentence when something happens, and then he doesn't follow up on it. his habbo stream today he was speaking about a minecraft letsplay and his screen fell or something, the man fiddled around a little and i was waiting for him to say "so as i was saying"

well he didn't say anything after, he just went on with the habboing again
