Finally caught up on this thread again. So much interesting shit happened since I last looked.

But on the topic of GPM he seemed like a genuinely okay guy for a while and I was down for seeing him play with others on the team or maybe catching a stream of just him doing whatever, especially after he joined the crew. I remember feeling a bit excited to see a new face on the team. But yeah I'll agree to him becoming more bitter after the fact of his scandal. I mean if I had to worry about what I said or did online every day, or be forced to apologize for giving my stream video a funny title, I would be too.

Either way I got tired of seeing his stuff and I think some of the last things I saw him like or retweet was that tweet of the retard going after Cr1tikal for "Only having white people on his podcasts".

Though I kind of miss how he used to be.

And I remember him pretty much on twitter posting about all his new GAY and TRANS friends and how bi he was and gay cause not in a "het relationship" I think this was like after he broke off with his girlfriend Geepm was pretty funny and easy to watch before he drank the kool-aid. this is nothing really important, but now that i see the word "problematic" and joel on the same page. didn't see anyone pointing this out, and maybe it is just me wearing my tinfoil hat too tight around my brain, but did you guys noticed how joel recently (like a month ago) skipped some fanwork because it was related to the very "offensive" joke? (you know the one)
can't remember the specific stream, i think it was the one were he played Draw your own Adventure were he had this long as life art segment, and kept announcing that he had an animation to show. usually he does that whenever it's a four minute or longer animation. so i thought he was refering to this one, since it was posted on the booru and also apparently the animator tweeted it at him (based on YT comment section). the thing is, it's the prank call to the tech support guy, and he just skipped it. so "apparently" the really special animation was a gif made by zeurel. nothing against him but i don't think a gif is a reason to hype up?? maybe he gave it a look first and decided he had to avoid people in chat going bonkers. smart move, but come on

political correctness really ruins the fun, and also discredits a really capable animator, huh

speaking about the devil, does someone even enjoys watching Fred's streams? i tried, sometimes i stop by and he's just- sitting there, not even talking, playing WoW. excluding the obvious ones, i can say that darren, ima, direboar and limes are kinda okay, they add up with their personalities, whatever, but Fred. he just fuckin exists

I genuinely don't know who is watching Fred's streams. Like, who is his target audience? 40 year old men with mullets?

In all seriousness, though, Fred comes up pretty low in follower count despite having been one of the most notable Vinesauce members in previous years - in terms of older content, Fred is probably tied with Rev for his frequent appearances on both the official Vinesauce channel and in Joel's streams, so he was putting in quite a bit of face time with the userbase back then. In spite of that, Rev has more than double Fred's follower count (Fred has ~16,000, while Rev has almost 37,000), and much better name recognition. Fred only beats Jen, who, to my knowledge, has largely stopped streaming altogether, and Darren, who I know literally nothing about.

It's kind of sad, since he started out pretty strong with his presence on the Vinesauce channel back in the day and had some pretty funny highlights up. My guess is that, once everyone started being really independent with their streaming, it became abundantly clear to his fanbase that he didn't have the charisma to maintain an audience by himself. I've said it before - he's only ever funny in conjunction with someone else, particularly Joel, and when he's alone, he just flounders. So once they stopped doing group streaming regularly, his follower count probably plateaued completely. It doesn't help that he's clearly going through some sort of rough patch, and looks/sounds pretty terrible. No one can put up with that for an extended period of time.

TL;DR No. No one enjoys Fred's streams. I wonder if he even enjoys it himself anymore.

If there's one thing that I can't stand about Joel it's that he refuses to fix shit that are causing him problems, subsequently causing him to complain about them. He still balances a mic on a book or something and won't upgrade his PC cause he's too lazy regardless of having enough disposable income. Same with Vinny, he's had CPU issues for months but won't upgrade it cause he's a lazy fucker and is only planning on it for fucking Half Life Alyx.

I watched his Minecraft streams a few months ago and I couldn't believe his mic STILL crackled, and a bottlenecked CPU trying to run software VSTs on top of playing a game and encoding a stream is probably the reason why. You'd think being in a band and working with guys at the studio would give him a little bit of audio engineering knowledge but I guess not.

I wish I had more to add rather than just lurking or shit talking on how shit the facebook and discord are, but these are to everyone's knowledge, I am still reading through the remaining 10 pages, but damn, this is oddly interesting. Not that there's talking about coding, but there is something about knowing a bit of the behind-the-scenes with this group that really fascinates me (and you too, I see).

Been following vinesauce and joel with occasional hiccups since 2013-2014, I don't remember it too well. I know it was after I saw vinny's first Crack-Life video, also I remember when ZeroDucksGiven was still known as "Welshgamer" and was some sort of active users in the forums. Also, does anyone know why they closed the forums? I don't recall those being particularly problematic,but then again, back then I could hardly understand a word of English.
The only things I know are related to Jen, but I think that everyone knows that. Like, her mail, which was what she used to add people on battle net, back when overwatch was just out of the beta, I think 2016 or something. And a thing about one of her parents, which also probably explains why she behave the way she did at times. When she was suddenly aggressive at times, for example.

From what I remember the forums and the Vinesauce site itself were primarily created and run by Direboar, but then overtime it started running into issues and development was basically abandoned. It's now a very bare bones version of what it used to be and is rarely used since people just use Discord or the subreddit.

From what I watch Vinny doesn't crackle that much, pretty much only when Minecraft loads. MC is notorious about hogging CPU on load, so pretty much no matter what CPU he had he'd probably crackle on loading into Minecraft anyway, so I don't blame him for waiting for another generation of CPU. If it was really an issue, a separate streaming PC would be the best solution.

In addition to people just using Discord and Reddit now, I remember Vinny mentioning offhand that it got overrun by Korean spam bots. That's the fate of most forums these days, the Farms is the only site where I haven't seen any spam posts in a long time.

Huh? I've been watching the stream and hadn't caught anyone in chat saying anything about that, plus tried looking back in the VOD too (unless all those messages have been deleted maybe?). But why would a bunch of people be telling Vinny about this random girl, what does she have to do with him...? Seems pretty irrelevant as this person seems to have barely any involvement in the community.
