His heart hasn't been in it since the cancellation attempt, I'd say. Or at least, that's when I thought things started getting kind of dull. Not 100% immediately though, but slowly. Until it got to the point of being more uninteresting than interesting around 2022 or so.

Viewer submissions rarely hit, and frequently devolve into repetition. Commercial chaos for example started out great. Then it devolved into just Japanese commercials that aren't very interesting, and auto-poops sent in by the people making the compilations, that are clearly not just automatically generated, but fairly edited, or at least choreographed. The times Vinny himself generates them, there are too many unrelated and not very funny meme-clips thrown into the pool. But that's safe, if boring, so that's what goes. Corruptions. Need I say it? I wish vetters were more aggressive with cutting out generic stuff. Not everything can be San Andreas corruptions, but it probably shouldn't just be clown vomit stuff in 2025.

The lackluster variety doesn't help, or selection I guess. There's too much of a cycle between Mario/Zelda/Half-Life - Mario/Zelda/Half-Life mod - random Nintendo game/flavor of the month/nostalgia remake - repeat.
But even the variety segments just aren't as interesting as they used to be. I think. Going back to old gettin weird with it segments, it's not too hard to come across stuff like Prosperity Path or Goblet Grotto, or in just other one-offs stuff like that Spud Christmas game, the doodle dip shit, or crap like the edutainment stuff.
These days, games with that very specific type of quality are pretty far apart compared to how comparatively common they used to be. Now it's mostly just pretty boring mobile bootlegs, or god forbid a walking simulator horror game that passes for gettin weird.

Only thing that comes anywhere near the old feel for me recently is the Winky stuff, and that's basically just watching a video, with the input Vinny had mostly being annoying loud noises. Thankfully based Wabu put a stop to that. Horsemen are great, though. Hope they start doing more.

I don't know, I think the game selection recent years has just sucked. It's funnier when he's out of his comfort zone. But all of this is very subjective, so maybe he hasn't fallen off at all, I don't know.

Streaming fell off when I realized watching other people play games is kind of boring and I could be doing something better with my time. Sometimes I'll turn him or Joel on in the office when I'm just data crunching or doing remote work at home, but even then South Park or Star Trek are my first two choices.

When he started leaning into easy placation/youtube upload trash like three hours of commercials with badly made YTPs attached while Joel is over here being genuinely apologetic for not playing the third game that night because he invested more time into an overmodded GTASA that everyone wanted to watch.

I don't know. His videos like Commercial Chaos, Steam Speen, and Wheel of the Weird are my favorite parts of his channel. Then again, I'm only a few years younger than Vinny, so I've lost my desire to waste the second half of my life watching someone else play a video game for several hours. I still enjoy that variety content.
 
I didn't watch Vinny until 2020 so I missed the golden age but I do still enjoy the "variety" stuff too, especially him talking about random weird thing like UFO's or watching the entire "Winky the Little Bear" movie and adding weird noises in the background.

At this point I mostly watch the VODs, I'm glad that him/Joel/Jerma have good archives so you can avoid chat (this is most useful for Jerma).

Someone in his Reddit was complaining about the video titles on his main "short highlights" channel being too clickbait-y and Vinny posted several thoughtful replies. I always feel odd when I know he sees stuff like that or weird Youtube comments.

I haven't "watched" anything to completion on fullsauce in what feels like... 5 years, if not more? The man is 40, and he plays almost nothing but fotm/coopslop and bing bing wahoo shit. The only somewhat refreshing segments were the YTP ones, and even then the experience was soured by his faggot audience submitting Very Tall Bart content.
Go to the fullsauce channel and take a shot every time you see a thumbnail featuring a variation of gigachad, bulging-eyes-vinny or a face which had the grin filter applied to it. That's how stale it's gotten.

I haven't watched corruptions ever since he stopped doing them himself and instead just starting doing carefully curated collections of corruptions other people did for him. It was funny when it was organic, when it's curated you can force the emulator to do whatever you want and it's no longer as special.

I miss the actual NES he had with the live data corruptors. That stream was hilarious. Loud = funny and I'm not afraid to say it.

Theres one guy who made really good once, freelance astronaut i think.
i remember his shit was pretty funny, i think he made pikachu detective and star wars force unleashed packs.

The chat during Timesplitters Rewind was bad and Vinny constantly trying to appeal and make excuses to certain chat members who are obviously unhappy that he isn't playing zoomer slop for the rest of his life.

What eventually got him to snap at chat? Do you have a time indicator on when it happens?
 
I checked out the Horsemen streams last night, they played an AI slop game for 20 minutes before doing a Thanksgiving bit and then a driving game.

Whenever Vinny and Jerma are streaming at the same time, Vinny's chat becomes better and Jerma's becomes even worse. I actually had Jerma's open in a tab because his chat was so bad I couldn't believe it, the mods had to put "AI" in the banned word list because people were yelling at each other and it was actually getting weird.

This sort of confims for me that Vinny gets the insane Jerma chat members these days because he's live five days a week. At least he will tell someone to fuck off if a line is crossed.
