Anyone watch Rev? I've been going through his streams the past couple months and while the occasional politics and him acknowledging "twans wights uwu" posters in his chat is always groan-worthy, he seems pretty down-to-earth and it makes for a great contrast since you can just tell he's confused and annoyed at the typical anime tropes meant for teenagers in games like Danganronpa and 999. Games where hes more actively playing as opposed to reading are hit or miss though, you have to make peace with the fact that when he plays Binding of Isaac he's gonna die to really stupud shit over and over again, so that can turn someone off those streams. Haven't watched his art stuff either but its beat that he streams that whole process to people. I feel pike his Homestuck streams have really attracted a bad crowd in his community, since they're the usual suspects who are ultra-sensitive and push gay politicking.
revs more condensed youtube content is also great, especially his scam caller compilations

it's funny how we were just talking about how vinny doesn't try new things and now he's doing hitman 2. i'm excited to see more, hitman streams are usually good, cozy background noise

I don't want to assume too much. But it would not surprise me if he occasionally looked at the thread.
If he does, hopefully he doesn't take the shit we say too personally.

i'd say the most likely possibility are his mods. he doesn't seem petty enough to lurk here

How is this not weird to people? I don’t want to white knight for Vinny, but if I were in his position I would openly discourage people drawing fan art of me like I’m a cartoon character. He’s a person and his name is Anakin. I know this isn’t a new thing, but the fact that it’s still happening and getting highly upvoted despite Vinny saying he isn’t really all that jazzed about fan art of him is cock, and further emphasizes the disconnect between the streamer and the audience

As it turns out, when a lot of people like something, there will always be a significant number among that population that will take their obsession to undesirable levels and there's actually not a damn thing the creator themselves can do about it. If he rebukes them, on the one hand, he risks alienating people, and, on the other hand, people will see it as further license to do the thing he dislikes precisely because he dislikes it. Kind of like how he already has a love-hate thing with a lot of the memes that have been born around his content throughout the years.

New Red Vox album just dropped and It's pretty good actually. In fact I think I like it more than Another Light. My favorite track on first listen is Winning the Most, and my least favorite is All About a Feeling.

I think they've come a long way since their first album, I know they might not be everyone's cup of tea but I genuinely think they are a decent band.

There's nothing wrong with this particular fanart though. It's not offensive or lewd so I don't see why people shouldn't be allowed to do it. I've posted examples of the "weirder" fanart that he sort of encouraged in the past and this is extremely tame in comparison. It's pretty much the usual stuff that you would see on the booru or in thumbnails of videos.

I'm not sure whether it surpasses Another Light for me yet, but it's right up there with it, and a definite improvement on Realign. Whether you like them or not, I think it's admirable that they keep trying out new styles with each album: if we just had four What Could Go Wrongs in a row, I'd definitely have tired of the band by now. I was surprised to hear what sounds like ska influence on Winning The Most.

Most of the visualisers for the songs here are pretty good too.

I think the art's a bit weird, but nothing heinous.
The comments however...

It’s not exactly heinous, no, I really just meant to say that I wouldn’t put up with it if I were in his position, which is probably why I’m not a streamer. Not being funny or interesting probably also factors in

It seems to be a given whenever a male streamer gets popular they're going to get comments like this. Anytime Vinny posted a video or picture of his face, there were several fans thirsting over how hot he was. It's possible that Vinny used this to his advantage to get with those fangirls, but I guess that's up for debate. I do agree that some of the fans take it too far, but I don't think that's really the fault of the fanart itself just poor internet etiquette. Not everyone is ok with sexual comments like that.

Most streamers and youtubers receive fanart on a regular basis, so it shouldn't be an issue as long as it's SFW. The reason why it's usually encouraged because artists online are often devalued and mistreated. So in turn content creators usually support them if they're good enough. Take Oney for example, he pays several people to make thumbnails for his videos and feature fanmade animations on his twitter. It's part of the reason why I enjoy Oneyplays a lot because of how funny and creative the fans are.

Vinny tends to mistreat his fans nor does he lay down solid ground rules, which in turn leads to a weird fanbase that are attention horses. Also people here seem to overreact to stuff that's completely tame. It's not like his fans are drawing torture porn of him constantly.

I reckon it's a pretty solid album. It's definitely their most cohesive, as though they learnt what wasn't so successful on previous albums and then worked the hell on those things. Particularly Vinny's performance, the harmonies are excellent and it seems his pitch and vocal style is improving.

At this stage, I can't even pick a favourite or least favourite as this is the album of theirs that sounds consistently good start to finish. There's been songs where they really MISSED, oftentimes due to one element not meshing imo. So good on them.

Can't wait to listen to the new album tomorrow, I genuinely like Red Vox, they really do improve a great deal each time.

ETA: Thoughts after my first run through I really like this, Realign was pretty decent but this is much more my style, Middle of the Road being my favorite track. Vin's vocals sounding much more consistent across the board.

Same goes for Jerma. See; the catboy Jerma plague

I think it's been months since I've watched a stream by Vinny. Back when he'd stream live, I also wouldn't watch all the time, but at least a few times per month.

Just mentioning it because Vinny posted the "vinesauce revined" (good pun) to his channel and I skipped around for a bit but didn't really enjoy watching anything. This year wasn't a good year for Vinny and his content.

I'd love to see him play some old 90's early 2000's console or dos games. I wouldn't really care if he'd record that or stream it live.

I think it's a combination of boring normal week games and the loss of Sunday streams. Like seriously, 90% of the games he's played since returning are all Slay the Sleeper tier.
