The Bureau is great. The newest XCOM: Diversity Squad makes me pretty nervous about the future of the franchise though.
Are you serious? I dropped that piece of garbage after maybe 3 hours. AI teammates are utterly useless [see: attachment]. Enemies are extremely spongy and you're often forced to backpedal whole city blocks because the more resilient ones just keep coming at you.

Games, mainly indie ones, that complain about "capitalism."

Like yeah, everything should be joked about and the big bad capitalism is no exception, I've enjoyed many a story and setting about greed and dystopias, I hate Joja mart in Stardew Valley and all that shit. t It's moreso when it's offhandedly mentioned in a jab or some way like that that annoys me, I can't be the only one who finds it a bit off right? Like, the only reason I'm reading the text you've written for me is BECAUSE of capitalism, do you know where I fucking bought you from? Steam, made by valve, who are billionaires who profit off of gambling in the form of crates in CS:GO and TF2.

I have no issue with games that tackle the concept of hyper-capitalist dystopian societies/setting or games that tackle all different types of greed or make fun of said concepts, but it's when it's a game that's completely unrelated to any of that, in an area/level/whatever that has no connections to greed or money or capitalism or what have you, just suddenly takes a jab at it, that's what annoys me. It's not even that I disagree, I'd say I agree with the jab more times than I don't, it just feels wrong, like a gambling addict taking a shot at the house. It's like, yeah I get you and I agree, but are you really the person who should be speaking on stuff like that?

Just gotta hunker down and lure enemies towards you and stuff. It's all pretty standard third person stuff for the time, but the setting and story is charming. I've got a soft spot for XCOM though

Loading screens. That tells me they didn't optimize their game properly.

I hate collectibles in games. It's a cheap way to encourage the player to explore your world.

My pet peeve is people who say shit like this and claim they are a gamer.
I never claimed anything. However, I have finished 600+ games for PC alone. This is not a brag, just to be clear.

I dislike controllers mostly because of the inaccuracy of the analogs. I didn't mind controllers when they consisted of just the d-pad and a few buttons. I played a lot of games for the original Game Boy and didn't complain about the controls back then.

I don't understand why some people get haughty about controllers on PC. Xbox controllers have worked with correct button prompts and everything on virtually every multi-platform game made since early in the seventh gen.
I'm guessing it's because of the limited accuracy from analog sticks compared to mouse/keyboard and how some developers don't account for separate control inputs for their games.

I don't like how the X button can be multiple things depending on your console of choice.

Forced walking in game cuts scenes where you have to slowly walk to somewhere while an npc spouts exposition at you. This was never a thing in older games as they just had cutscenes or allowed you to skip past them. The Tales series skits are the best solution as you can chose to listen to extra lore.

Which is why you play controller games with controllers and keyboard games with keyboards.

Particularly, action-adventure and a lot of other gamey game games are better with controllers. All else is better with keyboards. I would never play something like GTA or Assassins Creed with a keyboard. I’d never play a multiplayer FPS with a controller.

When basic QoL conveniences are deliberately excluded in the name of being "hardcore", or the game provides no documentation or basic starting info.

I don't mean the basic tedium or forcing you to sometimes do stuff you don't want to, I mean basic shit like "having a map" or "giving new players basic control instructions".

It's one thing if a game gives you some basic footing then sets you off (lots of good games, like Project Zomboid, or Mount and Blade:Warband, do this), it's another if you get thrown into the deep end of a pool and told to figure it out, retard. Especially in multiplayer games or MMOs where they revel in this idea of hidden information or hazing new players for not being aware of specific mechanics or information.

One of the reasons why I gave up on Multiplayer games is because of bullshit like locking all the good weapons perks or whatever behind some kind of grind. If you aren't a no life sweat as Zoomers call them you end up spending your time getting wrecked to unlock the shit needed to be able to actually compete fairly. If you are an adult with responsibilities or maybe you just don't want to sit around doing a no life routine for 12 hours a day grinding shit in multiplayer you end up getting your shit pushed in every match. It's not fun.

You shouldn't have to grind/unlock shit in multiplayer. Just let everyone have access to everything from the start. My first multiplayer experience was with CoD MW1 and I would go to servers that allowed you to unlock stuff really fast. Then I would just go to any server I wanted. It would take me a day or so playing a few hours a day to get everything unlocked. But you couldn't do that in BF3 and 4. So I just gave up on multiplayer.

I think Star Wars Battlefront 2 (the new one) had this problem. You had to play for dozens of hours just to unlock a single character. I sure hope for the sake of the fans that they eventually patched it.

By the way, I'm saying "the new one" because there's...
SW Battlefront (2004)
SW Battlefront 2 (2005)
SW Battlefront (2015)
SW Battlefront 2 (2017)

Why couldn't they call the two new ones Battlefront 3 and Battlefront 4?

If you're going to have melee enemies in a third person shooter can you please please not have them run up to you at lightning speed so you can't shoot them and then have the camera spazz out and go into first person and you still can't aim or shoot because the enemy is basically inside your fucking character model and then you die because you can't fucking aim or see the enemy.

But enough about my Resident Evil 4 remake professional run.
