That's because Iran is shitting itself due to a mix of sanctions and the coof, much like China. Unlike China, Iran's far smaller internal economy, little to no ability to use connections they gained around the world (due to lol not having many) and rigging the system to fake success isn't anywhere near as good, so they're desperate for a win. That's why this Mufti asset, terrified of being goyim'ed by the bootleg SAVAK trained by Jews, is so desperate to push success and victory today.

He probably woke up with a dead animal in his house and a warning note to push success or else.

I don't think you know how the Iranian economy works, or really how they break sanctions, or why they're doing this. But whatever makes you feel good I guess.

And you're likely not better. I just know using PressTv as a source is like using Pravda as a source in the 1980s, or Baghdad Bob in 2003. You ain't gonna get good details and it's going to be so slanted in the state's favor it may as well be vertical.

Of course I'm not, but neither is really anyone on the planet. Any media you're going to find will always have a bias toward the state's favor. That's why I don't try to use PressTV or RT as a sauce and try to contact with people that actually do the work and can communicate without being told by the state to make a fluff piece.

Hey! Don't shit on poor Baghdad Bob. He was just doing his job, and if he refused, a member of the Republican Guard was just off-screen to correct his thinking with a bullet to the brain. He was also unlike the rest, actually funny with his obvious lies. "The Americans are throwing themselves at our gates!" may be one of the best fake claims ever.

They are breaking sanctions because Venezuela is paying in gold. And Iran needs to be paid in gold to keep their shit from imploding.

I will do a poor job of explaining this, and you fuckers probably wouldn't understand even if I did, so yolo.
- Gold is not untraceable. that 0.01% of 99.99% pure 24kt gold has enough trace materials they can spectroanalyze and figure out the geographic location and in a few cases, the mine(s) it came from if there's a unique element in there. I don't know how unique the make up of Venezuelan gold is.
- When you go and sell your $10 Double Eagle, no one gives a fuck. So on a personal transaction level, gold is untraceable.
- When you are shifting pallets of gold, it becomes feasible to analyze the gold, especially if you have questions the origins of said gold.
- China and Russia have enough skin in the international game they can't take pallets of gold from the internationally delegitimized Venezeulan government because they may have to refund all or a portion when some day in the far future, Maduro is finally churroed.
- Iran however is not hoarding this gold. They are breaking it down to pay for thier proxy wars in Syria, Yemen, and Iraq - there is no record of these transactions, and even if there were, Iran no longer has the gold which has been broken down and distributed into impractical to trace amounts.

So you have this uniquely symbiotic relationship where Iran gets to charge not crude rates but refined rates and not only pocket the profit but charge hazard rates, to be paid in untraceable Venezuelan Reserve, which they can channel right into Hezbollah and make these state-level transactions just disappear.

Because they can't do anything with that gold. It can't be exchanged for actual currency, nor can it be traded on in lieu of currency. Its worthless to them, in other words, since all it can do is just sit there. Russia could start paying their various proxies in said gold, but unlike Iran they're not a pariah and this would make them one, and Russia is very dependent on selling oil to keep afloat. China... same deal, but with no proxies to spend it on and they risk pissing off everyone, which they can't afford.

They could but why would they? Superpowers have all kinds of ways of managing their off-the-books budgets that are nowhere near as cumbersome as moving around physical gold everywhere.

Maduro is no longer the legitimate leader of Venezuela. He has been told, explicitly, to go fuck himself with access to Venezuela's international reserves.
If Russia were to accept a pallet of gold bars from Venezuela now that the UN has said he's not the legitimate leader. Russia on record as having received that gold, and therefore when Maduro at last is churroed, the next government is going to be looking to fund their own voter bribes and want that gold back.

There will be a paper trail saying Russia has this gold. There will be a way to PROVE Russia has the gold. And Russia is also going to keep records of where (if anywhere) that gold goes. Russia knows they could get put on the global finance naughty list if they don't eventually comply with an order to return the gold*. So its just not worth it.

Again, Iran has several international terrorist organizations to launder the (compartively small) amount of gold required to buy a tanker's worth of gas. They are already on the global finance naughty list, and their economy is in the shitter. There is very little incentive for them to NOT take their gold.

*In practice this looks like Russia lodging a complaint with the order to return the gold, a lot of slap fighting,and then probably having to part with maybe half of their haul, or getting comped some sort of holder fee. Russia's economy is not completely turbofucked, so its a bad deal.
 
What's hilarious is that since Hezbollah is dealing drugs as a narco-terror cartel, there's a non-zero chance Uncle Sam will be confiscating some of that VZ gold as part of a drug bust. Stay mad, Maduro.
