I've yet to see any evidence the real public opinion in Venezuela isn't "slowly dying in the dark with government crumbs is better than the alternative of doing anything about it". I mean actually doing something about the situation to make it better besides just refusing to accept as legal tender the 3rd reissue of the worthless currency and goldfarming in runescape.

Thats more realistic of what happens when the entire government, police, armed forces, paramilitary, media and even the international community are against the civilians. People either flee the country or learn to survive and care for their own family and loved ones. No, a father is not going to kill itself by cop/colectivo/random criminal/military/national guard and leave his family to starve when that means jack fucking shit in a situation like this one, he would struggle to feed his family or get out, specially since in Venezuela all the guns are in the hands of the government and criminals.
If instead of reading comics and playing CoD more people would read on actual revolutions they would know that civilians are either armed trained and supplied for conflict or like it happens by foreign actors or in 99.9% of cases, the military breaks with the government and tells them to fuck off, people don't stand up and give a good speech, then everybody claps and the villain is destroyed by some superhero.
If instead of trolling you would lurk moar you would also know that venezuelan people have protested aggressively for the whole two decades with always the same results, thousands have died and have been incarcerated and yet the military wont budge, the paramilitaries wont budge, there is no one supporting protests neither inside or out of the country so people always die for nothing and even USA are pansies who always fall for negotiations with corrupt actors and leave civilians to eat shit, making the situation worse with sanctions that take even more power away from the population and puts more power in Maduro because the military has all the scarce resources. Operation Condor americans were based and were a reliable ally, current era americans only move to help israel.
If you researched more you would know about 11 abril 2002 when people marched to the presidential palace, dozens were killed and it DID ended up in Chavez being ousted, because the military told him to fuck off, but the same military brought it back and there it is to this day. The civilians have done everything in their power and its not enough, if it were dictatorships would not exist anywhere in the fucking world, but not like americans understand that, they think dictatorships are The hunger games or is just like Harry Potter. Theres actually have been a lot of local insurrection groups that always end up killed or honeypoted, google "oscar perez".
So yeah, every single country with dictatorships and drug cartels needs to pull itself off the bootstraps, all the people the ISIS is oppressing and chopping of their heads are just lazy, fat first worlders surely know what fighting an oppresive system is like, they have mean people with blue hair screaming so its the same thing. Mexicans must really love The Sinaloans and The Zeta cartels, just like venezuelans, they wont give the cartels a stern handshake and tell them to please stop killing them and stealing their lands
