Any seizure of power by undemocratic means is a coup, and the military flat out declaring the head of state needs to leave is a coup. Coup also tends to connote that the event is a bad thing, and that it means a dictator is taking over.
That isn't the case here. The head of state was a fraud and had been unelected and had, essentially, himself committed a coup which was then trumped by the military refusing to support him.
However, they didn't do it just to take over themselves and are actually enforcing an election with the usurper disqualified and gone. Nobody died, or at least not very many people, and the ultimate result is more likely to be a return to something like normalcy than a descent into tyranny. Who knows, though? It's South America.

So today was the day that by law the congress need to elect their president, is just a mere protocol because everyone announced that they were going to vote for Guaido, obviously i will not have made a post only to inform that because this is Maduro, he is exceptional and has to worsen everything by pissing fuel into the dumpster fire, he decided to buy several congressman (not enough) and take the Congress building so his paid traitors and his own faction inside the AN could make a stupid vote and they unanimously decide to choose Luis Parra, a guy that was discovered recently to be accepting bribes to sabotage every single action of the Opposition
The chavistas had the big and nuclear balls that claim that Guaido could not be elected because he was not present, they forgot that to make every decision they need a quorum and they had JACKSHIT and also he was present, he was trying to make his best Ezio Auditore parkour moves to enter the building
Funny this move even managed to make the hardline faction of the 16J to join Guaido now, those guys always bitched and moaned but just for today they decided to stop being idiots and voted for Guaido, Btw Parra claimed that he was elected with 86 votes when this is a lie, we only have 167 congressman (-4 because the CNE refuse to recognize the ones from Amazonas) and Guaido had secured 83 more than enough to be elected
