I mean, their real currency is pretty much worthless at this point. A barter system would look pretty nice to the person whose money is worth less than fucking runescape gold.
I pray it never reaches that point of desperation, but who knows anymore.

I'm willing to bet it already has with corpses in poorest areas. Now granted Venezuela isn't as bad as Liberia during their civil war, but the bodies there used to disappear overnight.

That's a catch 22, as if Maduro/Chavez had been jewish puppets, they wouldn't have allowed their oil infrastructure to be destroyed. The country would still be oppressed and squandering billions on bribes for the barrios while the elite siphon off whatever they can to spain & switzerland, but average citizen wouldn't be dying of easily treatable illnesses while literally starving.

Half simple NeoCon shenanigans and half electoral jockeying.
The GOP hardline on Cuba served to make Cubans a pretty solid Red block during the Cold War and even today Cubans are still fertile ground for the GOP. The same effect is seen to a lesser extent with Vietnamese for much the same reasons.
So a hardline on Maduro is a good way to get into the good graces of Venezuelans in Florida.
