full auto rifles aren't inherently better than semi auto rifles.
the main benefit of full auto mode is that it allows you to use your rifle like a submachine gun, which makes it more effective at close range. but at medium to long range engagements, full auto on a rifle is not a big advantage.
in theory you could also put an oversized magazine on your rifle and use it as a ghetto LMG for suppressive fire i guess, but that's not very nice and your barrel will overheat quickly

Also those drum magazines are extremely prone to cause jams.
