I think you are underestimating the government, they are 100% willing to divert the scarce amount of filtered water coming out of the treatment plants so they can make shitty chink Gaming cards.

They have already turned a good chunk of the land into a dessert thanks to their mining activities

You misunderstand. You don't just need potable water, you need special water that is free of contaminants, more than you can just run through a treatment plant (you infact need to run the through treatment plants as well). This is one of the reasons why Taiwan hosts so many chipfabs, the special mountain springs generate that special pure water, Ireland has some sources too, and that's Intel is building their new fabs in that spot in Arizona.

I heard that they were developing Arduino's using child labor, and I believe it, from 2023 to now, there has been a really strong push for that type of stuff in schools. I did not understand why, but if what I have been told is true, then it would make sense. But as of now is just a rumor I heard, I have no concrete evidence.
