This feels a bit mean spirited but at the same time it is spot on with the venezuelan expat daydreaming about Maduro's fall. I feel a little bad when other latinos call them cowards for not staying and fighting since going against the army while starved and unarmed doesn't sound idea, but at the same time I remember that they had over 20 years to get rid of the regime and the attempts can be counted with the fingers of one hand.

These people need to realise that nobody is coming to save them and if they are is not gonna be out of the kindness of their hearts: going to war to liberate a country is expensive both in terms of money and reputation (not everyone will flock to give the saviors asspats, you can bet your ass leaders will come crying in defense of the poor dictator).
A lot of people, venezuelan and not, hope for this regime to end but you can't do anything with hope alone.

My issue with the average VZ expat is
a) They shit up the region they are moving to and refuse to adapt. "VZ sucks, I can't outvote a million bush-shitting indos, I'm out fags" is a perfectly reasonable stance to hold, but then stop being a retarded commie spic when you get where you're going.
b) They sob and beg for the rest of the world to overthrow Maduro while having done jack shit themselves besides do the Swiftie dance. They are starving and have been disarmed, but there are Chavista street patrols with guns you can take and armories to storm. If you want foreigners to risk their lives for you, risk your life first.

She's also a Republican. I don't know why people assume that making Puerto Rico a state would automatically mean two more Dems in the Senate when Puerto Rico elects Republican governors half the time.
 
On the bright side for the venecos, the oil production is starting to recover (slightly), meaning the subsidies for cheap gas, satellite tv and free electricity & water could become available soon, so can go back and behave well to your current and future tropical negro/mulato dictator.
