great fucking job killing off the game people asked for and than make a bunch off shity spin-offs.

For real, did people even want a sequel? The original ended pretty conclusively with very little loose ends. The original's devs did intend on a sequel and spin offs set in the same world of darkness but that was before the went bankrupt. This sequel has nothing to do with what they had originally planned. In a way, we will never see the "real" bloodlines 2 because it only could have come from the very specific combination of writers and devs from a specific team in the early 2000's.

So people should just stop asking for a sequel and just be glad that the original hasn't been tainted with some crappy remake or "remaster" ala XIII.

When I learned Paradox bought the IP, I knew right away I didn't want a sequel from them. Low and behold....

Tho lets be REAL here...could any company currently do it justice? I personally think not. Square Enix? Ubisoft? Bethesda? *chuckle* CD Projekt Red?

Legit, there is no major gaming company that could honestly do this.

I would have been fine with an expansion pack for VtM Bloodlines all these years after the fact. Why the heck not? That would be neat.

Wont those just be "official" mods then? I think an advantage of the original is its great pacing and the fact that the game doesnt overstate its welcome and almost nothing feels like filler...in fact, Chinatown is rather lacking on missions that we would want to have more of (a sad symptom of the game being unfinished). The game knows when to end instead of dragging on until the player gets bored, like A LOT of games nowadays. And I also think the short-ish campaign works with the fact you have many clans to choose and some of them leads to different dialogues and even gameplay structure. More of it isnt necessary...at least nothing official, mods should be their own league because its up to the player to get them instead of someone with money shoving it in our faces.

Naughty Dog when it still had Any Hennig might have been able to.

Meh, maybe? I CAN see where you are coming from but only if Amy and the people involved actually get involved in Vampire's lore...and even then its still risky.
Besides, I said currently and...well...there really isnt one. Tho you did give me the fucked image of Dansel crushing Smiling Jack or Nines's head with a golf bat because its time for a woman to run the Anarchs

The Chinatown portion of the game makes me feel drunk when I play it. It also runs heavily into Deus Ex and I forget which was which.

I think its due to how unique it is from the previous areas, in a good way in my opinion. Some stuff that was setup at the beginning of the game with the asian vampires start to have some payoff as you learn more about them and meet their leader and you get involved in with the chinese mafia and then a bunch of vampire hunters kidnap you to study you and etc (besides it helps further establish what rules do and dont apply to Kindreds...crosses dont work, at least not them alone, there needs to be "True Faith" behind it and UV lights dont work either...which is fascinating, as it implies that the sun being deadly isnt because of some scientific reaction but maybe one of mystical origin? Its legit interesting despite the fact YOU are the test subject). Alliances are forged and you decide the fate of the factions... (It does remind me of Fallout New Vegas in a weird way in retrospect...even tho Bloodlines came first)

The Chinatown just introduces new stuff that seems a bit alien compared to what you were facing but given the game's great pace and writing, it doesnt feel jarring and just the game being like "Welp, time to shake things up now that you think you have it all figured out"

I still liked how you could pull a fast one on the Chinese fortune teller and undo his "prediction". Watching him visibly shift gears and come up with some bullshit to make it seem mystical was a testament to the facial animation.

Oddly enough the sourcebooks themselves are rather inconsistent on this. In some UV is deadly, in others it does nothing.
Probably some bullshit science magic where you have to believe they work for them to work. Isn't that basically why technology works in World of Darkness? They push people to believe they do and so they do?

Chris Avellone explains what happened between him and his accusers.

Holy shit. I don't think any of them even fucked once. :stress:

Also, some info on Bloodlines 2. Or non-info, since he has no fucking idea what the hell's going on with it, but it's enlightening nonetheless:

None of his writing actually made it into the game apparently. There's no way this is gonna be any good at all.

Isn't that why the supernatural works as well, because it's essentially psychosomatic? I can't decide if that's a genius idea and maybe how the supernatural would really work or a dumb idea.

Interesting, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what went wrong, the developer got hijacked by Woke parasites.

Chris seems like he's dancing around calling a spade a spade.

Been a long ass time since I read any of the lore out of curiosity, but the way I understand it is that yeah. Basically everything is just a collective morass of humanity's consciousness and their fears/beliefs. There is supposed to be some group or something that uses this to make it so computers work, cars work, etc. They convince the public to believe they work so they do and they do this to combat... I think the werewolves?

I'd prefer someone who knows more to correct me if I'm wrong or add a better explanation.
