Was gonna say, I don't think Vykos has any concept of what they are. Like at all. I wouldn't be surprised if they see themselves as clay more than anything else.

Vykos is basically a transhuman ideal taken to its most nightmarish conclusion. They're not non-binary or trans, they're just Sascha Vykos.

Vykos could just swap his crotchwound out for any he likes at anytime. The Tzimesce's fleshcrafting could actually make some great body horror missions if you wanted to delve into the transhumanism so many trannies buy into. People in constant pain yet eternally happy and loving to the dominator as they have a permanent dopamine drip grafted into their brains (general combat), plastic surgery addicts who can't seem to stop coming back to the strange yet alluring doctor even as they become more doll-like than beautiful thanks to a viniculum administered during surgery (masquerade enforcement), a rich yet depraved business man paying for underaged trafficing victims to be modded and mind-broken to his tastes (assassination/morality recovery), a new drug that causes horrific yet incedibly valuable and malleable tumors 10 years later in its users (masquerade/morality), an evolutionary accelerator who believes it's his duty to replace creatures made extinct by man with horrific abominations (combat/gangrel requested favor). It's too bad any exploration of the idea will be the magically neo-vagina dialogues.

Exactly. But, new fans aren't brave enough to dive deep into the lore to figure this shit out, they just see "trans-enby-vampire uwu" and get mad when they find out people referred to Vykos as it.
Beckett's Jyhad Diary already started the processes of wokening-Vykos, it's just sad that characters can't be monstrously evil without making sure nobody's going to be offended.

That is why I had no intention of trying to learn Vicissitude in my one (and sadly only) VtM game, much to the very pleasant surprise of the GM. Apparently I was his first player who wanted absolutely nothing to do with the Fiends and their fleshcrafting. Its been the start of a very good friendship, and a great deal of trust in games to play things other people can't.
Not a lot of GM's will let a player play a social adept nekomimi (homebrew metatype of his I ended up coding for Chummer as a favor) named Schrodinger after all. Aside from the expected warnings from his boss and HR (yeah, it was a corp game, sue me) about staying out of the women's restroom and other sensitive areas given his talents at disguise both magical and mundane, things were pretty smooth, surprisingly.

I am honestly so scared that Bloodlines 2 will be a flop. I just can’t watch that being done to one of my favorite franchises in the world. The Vykos and DnD transgender stuff, like I get it you want more diversity but the moment you start forcing diversity is when people actually start opposing it. I also don’t think most people love it when shit gets retconned or completely changed for the sake of fitting in with today’s norms.

Not going to lie, my two main ideas for a Tzimisce character are the following: the first is the perfectionist plastic surgeon who uses fleshcraft to build his funds mainly to do research on improving biological functions. Functional sociopath that mainly is interested in making the biosphere better, for his definition of better.
The other is the faceman whose whole issue is what's their true self anymore? Basically a former method actor who uses fleshcraft as disguises so much that their sense of identity is muddled. Which is their true face, and more and more does it even really matter anymore?
I can already envision the trainwreck the second character would be in the average player's hands.

Honestly, most have accepted that its "Final Death" on arrival. The game has been in developtment for a LONG time and just being thrown around from dev team to dev team.
Bloodlines 2 will be, as told in Midnight's Edge with a heavy accent, "a FRANYKENSTEINIAN abomination". Doesnt help its built around woke culture and the Lacroix clone in the sequel is obviously meant to be the orange man bad (when, you know, he isnt the president anymore so the game is ALREADY dated before it came out). The whole thing feels like a parody, like taking Dansel seriously when she was a woke activitist joke character in the first game that no one really respected (they kept her around for the sake of numbers and she had big titties)...like yeah, from ALL the huge cast of characters to bring back, you bring the one most people only remember for being annoying, nice move there guys.
The game will "look" better but thats really it, the original will probably even have better facial animation (a feature I think the original was sort of ahead of its time with it)

The bulk of Vykos' unusual career can be summed up as "I'm super confused about why I both love and hate my vampire dads (Symeon, Michael, Tzimisce) and have a problem with people who claim authority over me (Hardestadt, Polonia)."
Bloodlines 2 stank of 'this game is going to be woke trash' the minute Hardsuit revealed that they would be setting the game in SEATTLE. And 'diversity' is just the fig leaf boring, middle-class, midwit 'creators' have used as a vector of entry into jobs they wouldn't otherwise be good enough to hold.

I think a thinblood from the first would be interesting, especially if the thinbloods have started getting somewhat organized. The Second Inquisition didn't affect them as badly as the clans because they pass better as human. They're not overpowered, would have a vague idea about Vampires without being over-informed, and would have a reason to be sympathetic to an abandoned fledgling. Perfect characters to start the PC off with. No need for a complicated backstory. Just have Lily say a few lines about not wanting others to go through what she did and that someone once helped her for free so it's her turn. Adds a spot of light in their so it doesn't become overly dark and depressing. Seeing the Camarilla forced to make deal with the thinbloods instead of just bossing them around, and how for all their bluster the Anarchs could be just as intolerant and restrictive as the elders, would be a great way to add some cynicism and dynamic instability to the political factions: the Camarilla isn't fully in control anymore and may be a doomed institution, and the Anarchs aren't that far behind.

I think the wokeness comes from hardsuit labs not being experienced devs at all and pandering to what they think people want and also VTM is in the world of darkness series for TTRPGs which tends to attract just the worst people. WOD players are the most horny degenerate people to the point where they get banned from game stores regularly.

I been lurking both this and the WOD thread on Kiwis, and while you guys are cool, my experience with the wider nWOD fanbase is that they're almost equal parts insufferably smug fedora atheist stereotypes and autistic degenerates who are only in it for the power fantasy.
I wish I had cool people to discuss nWOD with outside of Kiwifarms.

I'm gonna say this again, but Bloodlines 2 doesn't need to exist because the first game was a self contained story in and of itself. The protagonist from that has come to terms with their new reality as a vampire and found a place in undead society (assuming they didn't side with Ming Xiao in which case they are feeding the fishes.)
The fact that they made a new VTM game but piggybacked onto the Bloodlines name should have made us all suspicious to begin with. Why not have a game that plays similarly but call it something different to reflect it's a whole new story.
