Now main conflicts are vampires/inquisition and cam/anarchs, ye. I love Sabbat and my fav clan is tzimisce and they just throw them away. There are still remainings of Sabbat but most of them spy in Camarilla. I think they didn’t like how problematic the sabbat is, but they needed to keep Lasombras in game because they are popular so they forced them into Camarilla. There’s even a game scenario in V5’s Chicago by night in which players have to help Lasombras get the place in local Camarilla.

Oh for fuck's sake. They stopped players being Sabbat because they don't want to be problematic?!?!

Jesus wept. The whole point of VTM is that you are the monsters and it's about how you come to terms with that. You are an undead abomination who is driven to eat humanity in order to survive, but heaven forbid you misgender someone.

Right. Next time I play a VTM tabletop, I'm gonna be a Ventrue and my selected blood source (Ventrue's clan disadvantage is that they have to drink the blood of a limited subset of the population) will be trans people. I will play someone who is literally hardwired to be either a TERF and/or a chaser. Fuck you V5.

Coteries of New York was pretty disappointing story wise.
You make all these "decisions" and it doesn't matter in the end because of weird Top hat dude going "Ha, ya all fell for it!" And most of the side characters were 2edgy4me. Everyone is portrayed as soo scheming and double faced but they all get fucked by Mr Top hat....okay then. At least the art was pretty.

If anyone's interested in another VN with Bloodlines themes, Red Embrace:Hollywood is similar.

I admit I only recently played the original (with the Plus patch) and I really had a blast playing it (if anyone is interested, my first playthrough was male Toreador with a love for bladed weapons). But Im seriously concerned that the sequel is going to go woke, because writers nowadays cant write something free from PC bullshit even if their lives depend on it.
Honestly, the world of darkness games could become awesome video games when the themes and lore is kept mostly intact. There is no "good" vampire, you are a monster from the get go, the best you can do is cling to some degree of humanity so you dont become a mindless killing machine, being human becomes a necessity rather than a choice in a certain way. You are a monster but you cant go full out monstrous (tho I do admit that the game should give you the option to play as the Sabbat, which the sequel wont seem to doing aparently...)

Honestly, it will just break my heart to see it going woke, because truly, in the end, it wont pay off and people will still prefer the, let me remind you, TECNICALLY INCOMPLETE EARYL 2000's GAME over the new one.

Edit: Also am I the only one who wants to see this guy returning?

Christof was badass and I always wished we could've had more of him. Redemption doesnt get enough love...

It's going to go woke, I just know it. They claimed that Damsel (female activist vampire) was the best of the anarch characters even though all the other anarchs just kept her around for comic relief because she was just larping as a revolutionary while Nines Rodriguez and Skeeter had both actually been downtrodden back in the warm days. What's the betting that the Anarchs will all be undead Antifa.

I wish we could have a Redemption remake with better and more intuitive UI.
This game is great, but it takes some time to get used to it. He’s the only main character in VTM games who was embraced “legally” and for a reason, and he’s the one who drives the story, I fucking love him.

Damsel nearly made me side against the Anarchs with her sheer annoyance (the only saving grace was that the other Anarchs didnt like her and just kept her around to increase their numbers...oh and Smiling Jack of course) she was a LITERAL JOKE AND STAB AT HIPPIES, on how they are loud, annoying and most people do not like them. And now they are saying that she is the "best Anarch character"? Bitch, Nines fought a near indestructable werewolf and WON (it fucked him up but he still won), there is a reason people respect him and not her. Honestly, the game really tried to nudge you into siding with the Anarchs anyway (tho at least it still gave you the option to go Camarilla but still putting Lacroix in his place, that is the sign of a good game) but the Anarchs had a point and the game made sure to show you where they were coming from. I swear, if the Anarchs in Bloodlines 2 turn out to be Antifa now, Im siding with the Camarilla without any hesitation.

Speaking about that, lets talk about Lacroix and how, if the original was made today, he would no doubt he a stab a Trump and his supporters? Basically the Camarilla would be the conservative party and they would be cartoonishly evil, when they have their pros and cons in the source material. The new Prince seems to be a literal expy of Lacroix ("Lacross" and even his design look alike) but I just know that the guy will be a stab at Trump this time. Not only that will instantly date the game but it will say a big "fuck you" to any Trump supporters who bought your fucking game...

Indeed, Redemption really could have a remaster. Bloodlines is more "fun" to play but Redemption had a far more engaging and thematical storytelling with a holy man being turned into an unholy beast and his struggles at maintaining his humanity and undying love for the love of his life. Its an engaging tragedy and you want to see him and his loyal companions win at the end. Bloodlines doesnt have much character on your end, you are just some random who got embraced and spared just because of public outrage, now, your rise to power is awesome but there isnt much to "you" besides pieces of dialogue, there is no significant backstory or tragedy behind you.

Redemption was janky as all get out but its story was absolutely amazing. Once you got past the bad controls and lackluster combat of what was essentially another baldur's gate clone, it was a true gem. Shame so few people have even heard of it let alone played it. It's been years but I still remember it fondly.

Oh God, was Damsel great, and for the reasons you described. I fucking love how she even mentions that this time Communism will work, but only if done by vampires who can magically avoid humanity's fuckups despite their entire race being humanity's fuckups made manifest.

Really, the only thing she was good for was being eye-candy, and even that's useless to a vampire.

Holy... I never knew that people thought Damsel was so highly regarded. From the Anarchs side I liked Jack the most (though he was more like a chaos agent) I mean the tutorial alone was gold "If some asshole waves a 12 gauge at you skin him drain him and bash in his skull. Self preservation is a vital part of humanity. My favorite part in fact hahaha!. To be honest I usually picked the lone wolf ending because fuck it you made me into this no I am gonna fuck your "society" royally.

Didn't like how the game tried to push you into the Anarch's hands, especially considering they did little for your character. Haven't finished the game, but I think I will try to go for the fourth ending where the Prince gets dethroned.

With Damsel, it makes me wonder if she had more regards beyond just the game itself if she existed in the PnP. Really though, Jack is the more likable character thanks to the tutorial setting up his character and how he played everyone like a fiddle. And the lone wolf ending was the best because you pretty much do give the finger to all the factions, even the one with a leader that stuck his neck out for you a couple times. It's one of those endings where it really does feel like being a loner is better than fighting for any of the factions since Troika pretty much gives you the option to be a solo badass without the backings of either an old Vampire illuminati or vampire freedom anarchist.

Much as the most the Anarchs did was having a leader speak up for your character from being executed and giving your character pointers, the push doesn't even do much to convince a player to side with them. If they had the time to show more of what failingings both factions had, it would of made one weigh more on whether to support either vampire faction.

Honestly, Skelter is my favorite part of the Anarchs. Dude's got a lot of that 1960's hippie vibe in how he talks about the blood and how you'll obey it, and at the same time is as down-to-earth as a guy who had shit happen to him in Vietnam. He even detests Damsel for being no better than the protestors who were fucking up America at that time. Also, as to the factions, you do get a bit of background from Skelter and Tung on what the two factions represent. Chaos, freedom, and a bit of vigilante justice from the Anarchs, rule of law and stability from the Camarilla, even if its plenty corrupt. Do wish we would get more though, not going to lie.

Sometimes I feel like the best thing that can happen to something from your childhood is it being forgotten by the mainstream so it wont have a "modern comeback" that will deflower and deconstruct it in its entirity. I simply dont trust modern game devs.

It's 90% of the time. How many remakes of old properties have been good?

Outside of REmake 2, I really cant think of others, but Im sure there are (only if very very few). Tho at this point, as long the remake isnt outright insulting to the player and the original, its alright by me, my standards have lowered a lot, sadly...

Wasn't REMake 3 a good one? Not played it, but even the KF consensus is that its better than what we usually get.

The only ones I can think of are the Resident Evil remakes and the remakes of the Crash Bandicoot and Spyro The Dragon games.

RE3's biggest flaw was that it was too short and felt more like a planned story DLC for the RE2 remake but got packaged as its own game so they could add in Resistance Mode. As a game itself, it's actually enjoyable.

REmake 3 was short as hell, lacked multiple things and locations from the original. Nemesis wasnt as threatening in that game, unlike the original. They sold a 30 dollar game as a 60 dollar one. Its fine for what it was but it was no REmake 2. Besides, people were wishing for a Code Veronica remake and Capcom seems to be skipping it for RE4 (when that game is not only great already but has been ported to nearly almost every console there is).

Game remakes are far easier to do than a sequel, remakes just require you following the original mostly fairthfully while keeping gameplay. Sequels require originality and unbiased writing.
