It's looking more and more like Paradox is going to rip the project from them and scrap what they do again with this bit of delusional declarative statement. Ain't gonna stop the development, but we're going to get a third dev now.
Paradox’s insistence in repeatedly throwing good money into this pit is hilarious. There’s sunk cost and then there’s this.

There’s not a chance in hell of either this game being good or breaking even. This game is going to fucking bomb, and unlike the original, I sincerely doubt it’ll become a Cult Classic.

I just want to see just how shit it is.

Why do I get the feeling this 'unique stand alone dlc' clan is going to be nosferatu
When I read "a sixth clan will appear in a unique, standalone DLC." I understood that as an expansion. Possibly an origin story where you play as Fabien the Thin-blood before his Diablerie by Phyre. Since Fabien plays an integral role in the game that would be the logical conclusion. Which if that is the case then only 5 clans are in the base game and that would be seen as ridiculous by everyone who had any interest.

My knowledge of Vampire is decades old and only half remembered, but why the fuck would an elder diablerise a thin blood? Is it just that the player comes out of torpor and goes crazy and just drinks the first person they see? Isn't the entire point of Diablerie to steal the power of a lower gen, why would you do it to someone way higher gen than you?

V5 introduced the idea that unless Elders diablerise someone (usually Thinbloods because they're weak) they will be mind controlled to go to the Middle East.

Seems like the kind of thing the company would do. They're too lazy or incompetent to design a game that can incorporate the way nosferatu have to operate, which even the first game put the time and effort into doing, and figured they'd just make a separate dlc and charge people more who wanted to play that clan, no doubt thinking its a genius move. Though I can see it as one that would put alot of people off

The more they talk about this game the worse they manage to make it sound. It really should have been cancelled entirely. Its going to be a shitshow if it ever ends up getting released and won't make anyone involved look good
The more egregious thing is announcing DLC of that magnitude, from a gameplay perspective, for a game that might as well be vaporware still. Unbelievable how hard they're dropping the ball.

I did not know that. The Keening is such a bullshit cop-out any way you spin it. V5, not even once.

Edit: Getting my editions mixed up i think, it's not the Keening.

Best part is this isn't the first time they did that.

I can't find it but I remember they had the balls to sell even more clans and a werewolf quest line

Even older editions of vampire had mention that when you get low enough in generation, human blood no longer cuts it and the oldest vampires if they ever awoke would be liable to run around using all the younger vampires as slurpees. That was the main vampire doomsday legend, that the antediluvians would all wake one day and drink everyone. That said though, I only recall in the rules that there was a cutoff for drinking animal blood, I don't think it was possible for a playable character to be low enough generation to be forced to diablerie.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think I've seen the current devs talk about the first game in any detail, they've only really talked about the tabletop game. So has anyone on the dev team even played the first Bloodlines? Surely the easiest way for them to know what fans want would be to actually play the game they're making a sequel to.

Welp, they’re still acting like they plan to kick this shit out the door. New Blog Post came out, introducing the Brujah. They even made a video for it

You know they’ve lost the plot when even people in the comments are pointing out the video tells them nothing. Frankly I’m mostly just amused by the fact they (the devs/Paradox) still think this game is coming out next year, and how someone over on Zuccbook thought the Brujah outfit was Nazi-ish. I swear to god if this game accidentally causes them another Chechnya style incident…

They did a teaser from the pre firing of the original devs that featured that anarch lady from the first game the name eludes me at the moment.

The Brujah has Raiden's Electric Fly move.

The concept art might be a hint to the clans featured in Bloodlines 2. It shows Phyre in male and female form with the outfits for what appears to be a template of each clan. Brujah, Nosferatu, Ventrue, Tremere, and Gangrel with the 6th being Thin-blood another reason why I think Fabien is going to be the "standalone DLC".

Damsel is who you were thinking of. The developers said back then Damsels reason for being in Seattle was to deliver a message from Nines Rodriguez.
