The ranking of students from No. 1 on down, based on grade-point averages, has been fading steadily for about the past decade. In its place are honors that recognize everyone who scores at a certain threshold — using Latin honors, for example. This year, one school in Tennessee had 48 valedictorians.

All of this to tap dance around the fact blacks are low IQ. Postmodernism sends incentive and tradition down the memory hole.

I'm pretty sure all Valedictorian means in Current Year + 1 is being able to read and write.

I was thinking this topic would be about "We don't want to isolate anyone by saying another student is better than others." And that's why they were doing away with it.

How disappointing.
That is what there doing, and for the reason I mentioned in OP.

"Participation trophies", to people about to enter the adult world. Wow, that ought to rightly prepare them, then.
lol I remember my teachers demonstrating how communism is total fucking bullshit by asking us if we'd like our grades to be evenly distributed.

Who has time to study when you're protesting all the time?

Even if they do away with the term "valedictorian" whomever graduates top of their class still gets to say "I graduated top of my class at X school". Try as they might, whoever's pissed off on behalf of illiterate minorities this time will still be foiled by their own hands.

I think "top of class" will be enfolded into BDSM culture in short order. "I was totally the bottom of my class."

Here's one of those tests that if you get anything less than a perfect score you're probably black.

Everybody gets the same exact grades. That way, no one can claim they're at the top of their class.

Sure they can. If two students tied nowadays, they could both say they were at the top of their class without issue. It's just now that it's a 300 person tie.
