This is the proper mindset. The midterms were a shitshow but chalking them up as a total loss means you cannot make any progress. Rather, take a step back, consider new options which may be available, then -use them-.

Just don't lose sight of the shitshow that made the openings. There is a fine line between pragmatism and cope.

Act like Sinema and Manchin for future bills. They should have enough people in their group to effectively swing the tide for any bill that comes out of the House, but this is assuming Leftist Congressmen vote party line and don't try to bail out RINO republicans.

Desantis vs Heels Up, Desantis wins, he owns the trannies in clips for 4 years (but achieves fuck all in practice) and they funnel out the stupid whore without much issue.

Regarding point 1 - Joe not seeking reelection: He pushed to have the South Carolina primary (aka the primary that firmly put him in as the front runner in 2020) moved up to be first. Ron Klain absolutely wants to keep this puppet show going for another 4 years if he can.
Regarding point 2 - Trump not seeking reelection: lmao even if the Post wishes he'd bow out the media is on track to pied piper him to the forefront again with free advertising, so good luck with that.
Regarding point 3 - The corporate media getting better: 9/11 made them worse. The 2008 recession made them worse. 2016's election made them so goddamn intolerable people started rioting outside their corpo headquarters. It's not going to get better.
 
Some McCarthy supporters were/are apparently pushing to immediately adjourn the House for the day as soon as the proceedings begin to stave off the humiliation of another vote. This would require Democrat support, but the (D) Whip has rightfully just instructed them to vote no if a motion to adjourn comes up. The clown show will continue shortly.

Nothing. It’s a preview of what’s to come in the next two years: total gridlock where the only things that can actually move through is more funding for Ukraine and Israel. Otherwise it’ll be McCarthy trying to get Democrat votes to override the Freedom Caucus. Since Democrats have no need to see McCarthy succeed, he’s going to have a hell of a time moving anything forward. Seems like it wouldn’t be worth it to be Speaker thanks to this razor thin majority but McCarthy is a snake who has sacrificed everything to get this gig, so he’ll keep fighting for it, even if it means he’s doomed to fail from day one. Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy.
