There's that at least, these things only have shelf life (if any).At least Beanie Babies were cute and varied, and little kids always like plush animals.

I think it's because culturally, Japan is quite different from the US, so there are a lot of aspects of anime that make it difficult to follow unless you're willing to work at it.
They also liked the gay swimmers*. And the gay robot-fighters**. And for 5 minutes, some of 'em had a boner for gay stalkers*** until SJWs deemed it problematic.Besides, I thought Tumblrinas liked that cartoon about the gay ice skaters.

*Not confirmed gay that I know of.
**Not confirmed gay, but popular enough to warrant someone trying to keep leaks up until a ship is canon.
***Which actually is gay.
I'm kinda surprised at even some of the...things being Popped. Like, is there a big fandom for the Golden Girls to receive Pops? Maybe only gay guys and grandmas buy those...
I thought that was because they were more-or-less being faithful to the original novels (yeah, they updated it for the modern day, but it's not as blatant or aggressive as most other examples).Sherlock's clients are always middle or upper class people.

There are people like that still. It's just that they don't brag about it and have better things to do with their time and their lives.Whatever happened to just being yourself and liking stuff just because you like them?
Anyone who actually gets mad over "fake nerds" either got thrown into too many trash cans or not enough.
i don't even get the appeal, on a purely superficial level. ugly little motherfuckers got a nasty design.
That's not going to kill him; it's going to put a big can of beans that says "Gloria" on it on the roof of his mouth (ten points for anyone who gets that reference) or horribly tear up his throat and vocal chords. That tattoo "artist" should put his ink gun in his mouth and pull the trigger.

For Japanese stuff in general I think it depends on the content, the mass media stuff is easier to digest, but the more culturalish or niche stuff isn't because obviously for most things cultural or niche, you need to acquire a taste for, it isn't that much different from foreign cuisine. I'm sure there are many people turned off by screeching high pitch mouse women, infantile adults, child like aesthetics or just the aesthetics in general, skimpy clothes, "undecipherable sense of humor", or unable to get into the word play and language puns in some content because they don't understand Japanese. Though chuunishit is autism, and knows no cultural bounds when concerning autists. It isn't really, though. There's less difference between the lifestyle of an upper class American and upper class Japanese person than between an upper class American and one who lives in East St Louis. Cartoons about robots, pirates, and martial artists fighting each other aren't hard to understand. Even CHRIS could understand Japanese cartoons, and he couldn't understand the concept of Australia.

Personally, "confucianist values" gives me a nice rustle.
