Why do Dems like Beta O'Rourke so much? They felted a PEEOHSEE WAHMEN in favor of him.

Abbott should call him Francis. No God fearing Mexican will vote for a Francis

He got national name after the media and DNC threw millions of dollars at their "Blue Texas" dream.

As to the results, not surprising, but still disappointing.
When he ran last time the media was calling him a rock star and there was one white chick from ABC who was practically having an orgasm being in his presence. He's young-ish, good looking (for a politician), and kind of has charisma, so expect to see him pushed until he finally ages out.

Sucks about Crenshaw (and with his butt buddy Luttrell winning there's now two of them) but glad to see that carpetbagger West get btfo by Abbott so I can stop seeing every Texas topic on the internet get hijacked by faggots trying to give the state over to the Dems.

To anyone who thinks there won't be massive "fortifications" especially with the Russia situation:

I'm amazed they aren't already calling Republicans/conservatives/Trumpers/etc a fifth column for Putin's fourth Reich
All that will do is just make Republicans lean back toward being neocons since they get their foreign policy from the same neocon loons the Dems get theirs from.

I can only really speak for PA here but I expect the Dems to keep control of PA. We have the same rural/urban issue as every other state but it is complicated by urban expansionism being caused by out of staters colonizing the border counties. Philly and Pittsburgh alone account for close to half the states population and can singlehandedly decide an election. Our GOP is also really cucked and we have plenty of celebrities like Oz trying to get on the GOP bandwagon, Trump's son may be running as well last I checked.

Nationally I do expect something of a divide in the GOP between establishment Republicans and the MAGA/Populist anti-establishment types, and I do expect a lot of these races to end up in favor of the anti-establishment candidates. All I really care about though is anti-establishment candidates to win elections on both sides of the spectrum.

Why would you want "anti-estiablishment candidates" on the left to win anything when they are clearly represented by absolute retards like AOC, Ilhan Omar and Bernie? The biggest problem fucking people right now is their policies against energy security in favor of crap like windmills that do nothing but kill birds.

I'd like to be optimistic but it's an uphill battle; the largest block of voters are boomers that will vote establishment because they don't do much research. It's why we have people like Lindsay, Crenshaw, Cheney, and Others who sucked Trumps dick but abandoned populism when it was convenient to do so. And if by some miracle the anti-establishment guys win the hangovers will hide their power level until they can make a move

PA gives me hope every now and then when I see one of their highway billboards with PedoJoe in Hajji gear saying, "Make the Taliban great again!" Made me lol.

Ilhan Omar at least seems to have principals, and is one of the few anti-Israel congressmen we have. AOC can get deported for all I care and Bernie will due soon

Principles? She married her brother to commit immigration fraud. Are you serious? Wow, she hates Jews like every stereotypical Muslim from the third world does, make her queen of /pol/ I guess and give her the nuclear codes. I'm sure life for Americans will improve just as long as our politicians have absolutely no qualifications other than being minorities but hate jews more.

Because the Democrat establishment then has to tardwrangle them into submission. AOC ended up abstaining from the Israeli bill instead of voting no for that fact. Also call me optimistic but I deeply believe within my heart there are some well meaning Democrats out there who want to slay the establishment beast they have.

The issue is that is Pennsyltucky, which has very noticeable differences from Urbanized PA and the surrounding counties there. Look at any election map of PA in a major election and you will notice how it is a sea of red and two islands of blue comprising Philly, Pittsburgh, and the surrounding counties.

That I can like about her. AOC I think is controlled opposition at this point and is only kept around as a poster child for progressive Democrats to rally to, but she will never be permitted any real power.

Absolutely the opposite happened. "The establishment dems" just adopted the loony left wing shit even though it's fucking insane. We now have troons running the military and a press secretary telling Americans $5 gas is a a good thing. The only thing they gave token opposition to is "defund the police" but then again it's just words because they're allowing crime to spike in all urban centers, don't want to do anything about it and are keeping all their Soros backed DAs in place. I've been hearing this stuff for 10 years about how commies are going to save us from establishment dems, but then people are shocked when the Dems overall become more commie and then force all this garbage down our throats.

Yeah, keep telling yourself that. We currently have a vice president whose only qualification is she has mystery meat black-seeming minority status and that she sucked her elderly boss's ding dong in California 20 years ago. The "sane" Democrats you think won't allow these people to have power are literally 80 years old and will soon be dropping like flies. Who is going to fill the power vacuum when there are no more Pelosis and Bidens I wonder?

Should we convert to a grieving thread already or should we wait for the polls?
With rampant inflation, supply chain issues worsening, and increasing nigger fatigue, a lot of shit is coming to a head.

I think people have to temper expectations though as there are a lot of true blue believers at a level not yet seen. Republicans have spent the last three years fucking the corpse of neoconservatism and have ditched populism, at least at the national level.

There’s also a bunch of suburban faggots who will wail MUH 401K if they think the Dow will take a beating if things go into a populist direction. Also if Republicans want to worship baste minorities, you can expect even fewer victories.

So people here need to temper their expectations.

One reason I don't agree is that Democrats don't vote during mid-term elections. Historically that has been the case at least. They turn out for the presidential election usually to support their given leader, but outside of hard blue districts I doubt they give enough shit about their congressman or senators to even know what their names are most of the time. So I'm unironically expecting a blood bath since independents are extremely pised off at the current administration.

Kind of predicting that the Republicans aren't going to gain much mainly because of sperging neocons on this whole Ukraine boogaloo.

I agree. While the opposition party historically makes gains against the incumbent party during midterms, there is no actual vision or leadership from Republicans this time, unlike what we saw in 1994 or 2010. So you’re going to see some Republicans who get it and other retards that think Ukraine and Israel are more important than inflation and anti-whiteness pervading society. This is the first go around of this without strong leadership or even guys like Rush Limbaugh to unify in almost 30 years. It’s going to result in a lot of missed opportunities.

Republicans will make gains because that’s how it’s been except 2002 due to 9/11 but the guys who think there’ll be a red tidal wave o’er the land are lying to themselves. The same guys who predicted Trump would win in a 400+ EV blowout, unsurprisingly. I guess they’ll have to find out the hard way, again.

You guys are all coping hard. The republicans will lose because that's all they do, and the democrats will keep winning as they have won and continue to win over the hearts and minds of the culture which republicans can't do.

Trump won't win in 2024 and Biden's approval rating is going up now due to Ukraine. Keep coping.

I disagree that the Republicans don't stand a chance in PA, but there is a major question here that I'd like to discuss: for the governor and Senate race, who should be the frontrunner? Few of the major GOP candidates are recognizable names, and the few that are aren't particularly compelling.

For Governor, the frontrunner is Lou Barletta, who ran against Bob Casey Jr. in 2018 and lost by a YUGE margin. He's running against Josh Shapiro, the current AG of PA, who's fairly charismatic and has busted two State Representatives (both black women Democrats from Philadelphia, imagine my shock) for corruption, pursued an investigation that uncovered child sexual abuse by over 300 Catholic priests, and helped win the lawsuit against the failed for-profit college ITT Technical Institute. He's also done less admirable things, such as opposing Trump's travel ban and 3D printed guns. Barletta has the appeal of a buy-here-pay-here lot owner (not helped by his awful veneers), and he's going to need to really ramp up the populism to win against the clean-cut Shapiro.

The GOP wanted to run Sean Parnell for Senate, but he dropped out after it was revealed he beat his wife like a good hot-blooded Republican man. In response, they brought in David McCormick from Connecticut. He ran a major hedge fund, Bridgewater Associates, that primarily made its money trading bonds and has major investments in China. He's a carpetbagger and your typical Wall Street parasite, who for me, as a proponent of American manufacturing and in-sourcing, stands for everything I despise about the neocon wing of the Republican Party.

Dr. Oz is only where he is because he's a celebrity, which irks me on principle. He also is a major flip-flopper as another poster here pointed out, which strikes me as unprincipled. Then again, the same could be said about Trump, and Oz is trying to use that sentimentality to his advantage.

Carla Sands is similar to McCormick in that she also runs a fund, though hers seems to focus on real estate. She's trying to get in based on the fact she was Trump's Ambassador to Denmark, despite the fact Trump himself won't endorse her (lol).

Kathy Barnette is getting where she is because she's a black woman running as a Republican, and we all know how obsessed the GOP is with tokenism. She's a political commentator with no real job experience aside from being in the Army, and I oppose electing anyone without non-political job experience to office under any circumstances.

The only major candidate that doesn't offend me (though that's only because I know little about him) is Jeff Bartos. Anyone have any info/dirt on him?

This is mainly why I have little hope in the PA GOP. None of the big candidates are real populist MAGA types and there are way too many unrecognizables running. I don't think it will be a blue wave in PA but on a state wide level I still think the Democrats will come out on top for the governorship with Shapiro or someone else potentially, and all the Democrat policies that will be made with that lot, and potentially the Senate depending on who the Republicans throw out.

Honestly though no one can be a worse governor than Wolf though.
