I think that's the worst part about this game; the wait between chapters. Speculation can be fun, but it gets to a point where people just get bored and leave.
I'm already at the point where I'm kind of just annoyed with it and want to see where the fuck this story is going but it's frustrating because I know I won't for a few more years at best considering despite having a team now it seems Toby is developing this shit at a snail's pace.

Genuinely the long gaps between new chapters is killing my motivation to care more than anything else. Especially since the plot feels a bit meandering frequently and I still feel like we're not much closer to understanding any of whatever bullshit is currently going on or why it's happening. That doesn't help either, but I'd probably also feel this way about any other game if it did this.

Imagine say, in say, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, the game stopped you after every major arc and said 'To be continued" and Rockstar took like 4 years to do the next chapter every damn time. I'd probably start getting annoyed too and San Andreas doesn't have the issue of feeling like you're not really learning anything like Deltarune does.
I struggle to find the words to describe it and probably sound like an autist to most people reading this who will likely say
>Bob what do you mean you dribbling retard we learn a lot during every chapter
And while that may be true we still know very little in terms of the grand scheme, what the end game is, why everything is happening other than "Prophecy or some shit." and every time we're slapped with a "to be continued" without having learned anything worthwhile at all exacerbates it in my opinion.

Tl;dr: The long wait times inbetween chapters coupled with the fact that you seem to barely learn anything worthwhile about the overarching plotline beyond vague bullshit really makes it feel like the game is wasting your time.

The theorizing will always be kinda fun for me because no matter what happens it seems Tony always pulls some bullshit from behind his back that takes everyone by surprise.

It's the memes, its the new rhetoric made up by the fandom, it's all the new 'should's', 'have's', and 'can't's'. All the little asterisk points the fandom tackles next to each character and their relationships with every chapter. Kris is enby, Suselle is canon, Asriel's a faggot, Carols homophobic, all the stupid little bullshit points that Redditors and Deltatroons need to tag on just to talk about the game.

this is 100% intentional and part of the intended game experience as devised by tobias lupine

DRINK! (The acid) :drink:

Headcanon, the "Acid drink" Queen drinks may be a reference to this sticker, since the dark world she inhibits is about the internet and it already made subtle references to hate forums

The thing about chapter releases is it's a proven model for when you want to sustain a fandom over a long period of time. Each individual release rallies the fandom which then creates fan content and speculation for the times between chapters, and it doesn't have a terribly high startup cost since you can just make Chapter 1 as a trial balloon then get the rest of the game greenlit if it's a success. It was probably done sometime earlier, but the first high-profile example I can think of was Bendy and the Ink Machine back in 2017.
Regardless, I'm glad that some corpo suitnigger somewhere told Tony that 4 years between chapter releases is unacceptable, and that he's gonna have to speed things up for Chapter 5.

Yurifags. At least some fujos are open with the fact that it's just a fetish and don't call you homophobic for calling it a bad relationship.
You haven't been in enough fandoms then because there are plenty of instances of fujos having meltdowns at artists or parody animators for not depicting a character as gay simply because fanon decided to call them gay. Or how they will write an entire thesis about why [insert straight character] has actually been gay the whole time and it's just an allegory for being in the closet, and if you disagree you are a homophobe.
Yurifags and fujoshis are one in the same, they use HECKIN GAY PRIDE as the shield for their psychotic delusions, all the time.

I get bored, I look up theory videos, I click a video, I am inundated with the voice of a troon, I click off. The cycle repeats.

No, but I do wonder if this wait between chapters will have an effect on how we look back on the series, once it's finished. Will it add to the ending? Or will it make it suck more? I think Undertale was nice because it was one and done, yet people still could find so much more to look for in it. Since there is so much more content in Deltarune, theoretically we could have that, too, right? But people have been scraping from each chapter, to the point that I don't think there will be much left to look for when it's finished.

At least he's likely going to be speeding up releases; I'm still waiting for the finale of Wintermute (The Long Dark)...

what if tony pulls a homestuck and retroactively adds stuff to the old chapters along with the release of chapter 7

Watch Ralsei get character assassinated harder...
