I was intentionally trying to keep my choices to things that came out before Undertale to imply that Toby could have learned from them but I am a retarded manchild and only bing bing wahoo would come to mind. I'm sure there are probably better pre-2015 choices, I'm just a moron.

But yes, I think it would have landed better if we learned about Asriel a bit more organically. I feel like that monologue from Flowey in New Home from the Genocide route should've somehow been squeezed into the other routes so we at least had a little more context and reason to feel sorry for him on an initial playthrough rather than having to do Genocide route for the extra context. That alone imo would've massively improved it.
Or at the very least maybe have the big lore dump about Asriel from outside the castle spread throughout the entire game and the player slowly piecing it together as they go. Even that I feel would've been better than just dumping it all in one go.

I watched that Sesame Street song that Toby asserts that Sans's theme was based on.
I'm surprised that he was surprised that nobody ever pointed it out! I assumed that it would be the theme to some recurring segment (I'm not a Sesame Street guy) ...but no! It really is just some random song!

Does he know how long "Sesame Street" is?
If you tell your average shonen enjoyer "I'm working through Sesame Street" - their penis will shrivel up!

I'm shocked that it's from the 90's though. From the animation style, I would've assumed it were modern.

The idea of monsters not celebrating Halloween and seeing it as racist is a hilarious concept actually. :story:
