i don't know what to think anymore about this game

I'm sure we've all seen this by now, but...

Makes me wonder what Genocide would be like if everyone decided to fight back just that little bit more.

It's also playable.

Here's another fan-made fight, though this one isn't playable.
The added drumbeat to Gaster's theme in the first half is kinda silly but otherwise I think this one's pretty cool.

Sorry to necro the thread, but I recently beat the neutral run and I am currently working on a pacifist run.
I really like it! It's well written, funny, has really good music and does a good job deconstructing the whole RPG/Indie Game format.

Can't wait to see what Toby Fox has planned next.
Given that a lot of content related to Gaster seems to have been cut, I wouldn't be surprised to see a sequel or prequel explaining exactly what was going on there, but since he's an indie dev, he's just as likely to come out with something unrelated.

One of the stretch goals for the Kickstarter that was met was that Undertale would be continued in some way, either through a comic, game, or w/e. Sooner or later we'll get more but I'd prefer it if Gaster wasn't a centric thing in it. Part of the intrigue of the character is his ephemeral nature, how he's almost there but not quite.

Gaster events are randomized, not cut. The plot is he "died" via temporal spaghettification.

But for all we know he could be planning a Fester's quest clone starring gaster.

No, there's evidence of quite a lot of cut Gaster content. He's still in the game a little bit, but he seems to have originally played a much bigger part in the story along with character called Grandpa Semi who is referenced in the demo's files and nowhere else.

I like to think that Gaster is a a Red Herring for fans to discuss and make theories like Mortal Kombat. Making a Earthbound hack and well verse in video game culture, Toby understands that people like to mess and hack games and made it fourth wall like saving in Undertale.

The thing about Semi is I'm pretty sure he was just completely scrapped whereas Gaster is worked into the game itself. The sound file for Semi in the demo, grandpasemi, was re-added to the game as filename grandpatemi and it plays when you decline to give Temmie Temmie Flakes.
