Of course it should be pointed out that Corbyn ran a presidential style campaign as well, but it was predominantly independant of the local Labour MPs who encouraged people to vote for them.

Some people in CCHQ will be looking at how to properly hybridise again, preferably under a leader that doesn't move like a twitching robot.

Thanks! That helps a lot.

With that said didn't the Labour Party say that they would still hold to Brexit anyways? How will a Hung Parliament affect the process?

In short, not by that much. As much as May has been making noises of "no deal is better than a bad one" we all kind of know that's the most extreme end result and a highly unlikely one and would require the EU to go for a total "cut off the nose to spite the face." Mostly as we'd be their biggest trading partner upon leaving.

The DUP (A party from Northern Ireland that will have to prop up the government) wants us out of the EU and the ECJ etc but crucially wants Single Market Access and no hard border between Northern Ireland and the Irish Republic. Ireland now has a massive role in the EU negotiations which might have not have happened under a Tory majority.

Now, the issue is that, should the EU simply say "get out and good luck" there could be deals or special administration done on Northern Ireland and the "nuclear option" would be to hack business taxes down to 10% to offset any tariffs the EU could summon and the DUP may or may not be too happy about it.

We'll have to see.

EDIT: Should be pointed out that anyone has access to the Single Market including the USA and China, but the difference is the UK will want tariff free access to the single market and it seems a more conciliatory tone will have to be adopted, which might see a more liberal migration policy from the EU, which will piss off a lot of people.

:powerlevel:Made a joke on facebook calling Corbyn a twat and now my page is a geyser of salt. :story:
To be honest though ; I was pretty convinced it'd be a hung parliament. They're both shit.

The boss of luxury carmaker Aston Martin wants politicians to get their acts together quickly to form a government. Chief executive Andy Palmer says: "We cannot stress strongly enough the need for rapid and decisive policy direction to ensure that business can continue to invest for the long-term growth and ensure the global competitiveness of the British economy.

Aston Martin wants results.

You know the only thing we can say for certain out of all of this?

The next few years are going to be intresting.

Predictions?

Theresa May resigns, Boris Johnson gets Tory leadership after other candidates pull out citing 'the need for unity'
Corbyn cracks again and Labour support collapses amongst the elderly, Labour gets a neo-Kinnock.
Young folk continue to be politically active (the only good in all this)

Oh, and Kensington's count has been suspended.

To be fair though, they're not wrong. Brexit is fucking businesses sideways and all ways so the sooner the politicians get their shit together. The better.
I vote the Aston Martin party in.

Picturing Boris as PM or party leader triggers me a little bit. But I would like to see, for the lols.

Kensington's been suspended because the turnout was so high people were starting to make mistakes.

BBC says May has no intention of resigning and will work to form a government apparently

Who exactly would be happy with a May-led DUP coalition government?

Thatcher said she wouldn't resign in 1990 as well. May's fucked up enough that she's badly wounded anyway and the leader of the DUP's saying it'll be difficult for May to survive.

Daily Mail Fact Box said:
Theresa May faces becoming one of the shortest serving ever Prime Ministers.

If she resigns in the aftermath of this morning's disastrous election results, she will have served just 331 days in No 10.

The only previous PM to serve less time is Andrew Bonar-Law - and he died in office.

UK: We thrilled you in 2015. We shocked you with Brexit. Now, introducing MINORITY GOVENMENT!

I wonder what new plot devices the UK will throw at us next?
