It is his ego more than it is his campaign. If Trump thought censorship of conservatives was a large enough issue to warrant action, he would have done it long ago. However, Trump only took immediate action when he himself was under threat. Because Trump only attacked social media when social media censored him, he does not care about conservatives being censored in general. This is a Trump protecting himself event, not Trump protecting his movement

Trump said he was going to do something about it years ago and the lazy sod never did, and Silicon Valley left him be until now because it brought in a lot of clicks, now they are going to do everything they can do get uncle pedo in office and that means silencing him and his reach online.

Thank you. Every time the discussion of free speech comes up, the example of "you can't yell fire in a crowded theater!" is always said, but no one ever realizes you can in fact do so. It's one of those things one person says and then everyone else goes around echoing it without verifying it.

I am actually pretty concerned over this whole ordeal, but I have a nibbling belief that nothing will come of it. Like many have said, Trump has a history of immense bluster before doing fuck all about it. n' even if he managed to do this shit, he would need unbelievable amounts of cooperation from the administration to push it through. Then all the Instagram-addicted normies would need to be cool with it.

A lot actually has to go right for this to MAYBE work.

That bullshit needs so many qualifiers to be remotely correct that Holmes was horrified at how his dicta was taken out of context, misrepresented, and used to justify all kinds of bullshit. He greatly regretted ever saying it.
