Another trope I remembered finding quite silly is Cowboy Bebop at His Computer. It's the epitome of "um ackchyually" in trope form. Also can't help but raise an eyebrow at the examples about religion, history, politics etc. because of the no citations needed policy. Sure they might be correct about some general things, but I wouldn't count on getting concrete facts from the same community that focuses on cartoon boobies.

Well, they also locked the 4chan page because the only board that they can think of is /b/.

ED was cut for reasons that shouldn't be mentioned.

I think there's another troll site that they hated...Like All The Tropes for (legally) copying them, but this kind of died out after Fast Eddie stepped down.

All The Tropes isn't even a troll site. Its just a legal fork of TvTropes, including all things TvTropes removed because of its pissy advertisers. Fast Eddie just got butthurt about it because apparently only TvTropes could be the internet's source of fanboy autism.

What Fast Eddie did not specifically like was that his site could be legally copied under Creative Commons, the license he added from day one, which permits exactly that, so long as you cite the source for attribution.

In fact, a few other spinoffs prior to ATT had already done so to some greater or lesser degree, and he mostly ignored them, not deeming them a threat at the time. That changed when Brent Laabs dumped an entire copy of the site content, with the intent to use it as a basis for a site forking.

Eddie lost his damn mind and banned everyone involved, accused them of hacking his site (when what Brent did is no different than what website crawlers and the Wayback Machine do every day, not to mention CC BY SA (Creative Commons Attribution Share-Alike) licensing allows redistribution of content, so trying to say what Brent did was illegal was bullshit to begin with).

Eddie then, in a fit of idiotic spite, changed the site license to CC BY NC SA (which only further limited what site TV Tropes could source information from) and tried to tack on all sorts of illegal clauses like people surrendered their copyrights to TV Tropes and it was retroactive (something so flagrantly illegal my associates at ATT like Bob Schroeck were willing to see him in court over it, Bob has fought and WON copyright cases before).

Thankfully, the new owner, Drew Schoentrup, he's an actual lawyer and not an idiot, and he rolled back that crap. At the time, Fighteer got the blame, but in his defense, Eddie was just about to disappear into the stonework forever and apparently had Fighteer parrot his crap on his behalf, Fighteer didn't know Eddie was pissing on copyright law at the time.

The CC BY NC (NonCommerical) SA change is and remains of dubious legality, you're not supposed to globally change licenses without the consent of everyone on the site (Wikipedia went through a shitload of legal hassle to dual license under GDFL and CC BY SA because of this), but we've decided not to fight it, and everything before the changeover in license remains free and clear, we've just elected not to touch anything after, though we could always port it over and slap a warning on the page that specific page is under CC BY NC SA licensing, but we have no intentions of doing so, it's just too much hassle.

tl;dr: Eddie reacted out of spite and legal ignorance to perfectly legal things done to fork TV Tropes, and we at ATT are sure of the legality, we consulted actual legal advice before we set up shop.
 
So what is Fast Eddie doing now that his only claim to relevance he ever had has dissolved and he's just some loser in Wisconsin?
 
I'm not sure I ever believed Eddie's tales of his life anyway, so who the heck knows what he's up to .

Many mod behaviors at the time were about mollifying Eddie so he wouldn't delete the whole thing in a fit of pique .
