No, it proves that the people in charge of the site could be a little more strict on what goes on a trope page, which is a pretty big problem over there.

They've been doing some work to combat this, but not enough, if you ask me.

I don't know if this is still the case (although I suspect it most likely is), but I seem to recall hearing several years back that most of TvTrope's issues with not being able to control what goes on the pages stem from the fact that the moderation team is really undersized for a site with as much traffic as they get, and that on top of that managing the forums eats up most of the moderators' time. The wiki itself pretty much only has moderators act on it when a regular user brings something to their attention.

"Damn shallow Stacy, rejecting nice guys for a fucking vampire Chad."

@Billpalazzo-sama Makes sense, given that there are basically two separate user bases; the people who read and edit the wiki but don't really touch the forums and vica verse. Since these groups rarely communicate and the mod team is so small for a site this size, it is a recipe for ineffectiveness. Of course that's without factoring our good old buddy autism.

Kind of ironic, considering the same people who are bitching over Bella being "shallow" at TVT keep drooling over their harem ecchi waifus and shit.

Or, if female, drool over their precious and fetishized yaoi guys who are the only men that won't make them piss in terror.

Don't be silly, according to fandom girls are stupid and they never know anything. But boys are always right and should never be denied the pussy they want.

Or something. I've seen that stupid argument in ship wars so, so many times.

To be fair every character in Twilight is shallow.

Fuck being fair, everything in Twilight is a gigantic shitshow and the only good things that came out of it is some decent Rifftraxs and some slightly expensive toilet paper.

Twilight is actually really fun if you pretend the characters are all supposed to be neurotic and unlikable. Bella's more interesting if you take her as friendless loser with terminally poor taste in men.

I've known enough real people that could be described as such that I can't even enjoy it on that level.

But it's at least still funny if you read Twilight as the desperate fantasies of a repressed Mormon housewife that they are.

Supposedly, the whole novel originated from a wet dream the author had about sparkly men in meadows. Keeping that in the back of your mind while you read really colors your view of the book.

Found this incredible autism in Cookie Clicker's "Fridge Horror" section:

What it's referencing is the "Grandmapocalypse", which turns the grandmas into Lovecraftian horrors. The pixel art means its scariness is less effective.

You have to be :autism: as fuck to not want to eat cookies or approach your grandmother after playing a game where the goal is to click to make cookies.

I can cope with the TVTropes autism, but what annoys me is definitely the Nightmare Fuel pages full of 'and they have RED EYES and it's so SCARY you guys ;-; ;-;'.
For goodness' sake, let me find ways to scare myself, not read through a thousand things that aggravated your autism.

"REEEEE HOW DARE THEY SHOW SOMETHING AS IMPORTANT AS VIDYA IN AN EVEN SLIGHTLY INACCURATE WAY!!!"
And as a bonus, look at what I found on the page itself...
  • Being into retro gaming can make this trope Truth in Television. Playing older games has only become more popular with time thus it's not uncommon for people to play twenty or thirty year old games often. There are also a lot of retrauxstyle games being made that invoke this.
Nice example that nullifies at least half the other "examples", TV Tropes.

Again, like almost all examples of the average Trope page- Any legitimate example that may exist on that page is buried underneath a bunch of contradictions and autism to the point where even those become just as autistic and contradictory.

I landed on the Byronic Hero page and noticed it had a Real Life tab. Thought, "That's a weird trope to ascribe to real people, but alright." I read further, and...

...christ, when will these nerds stop worshiping him like this and develop real hobbies

I can't take anyone unironically describing a fictional character as having a "dark and troubled past" seriously, let alone describing a real person.

If you ever hear someone on the internet claim they had abusive parents or were bullied as a kid, it's 99.9% likely they're at least dramatizing it to get pity points, ass pats, and, in the case of Enter, to get speds to agree with his autistic viewpoints on MEAN SPIRITED HUMOR!tm.
