Oddly enough, The Brood was more along the lines of Vampire: The Masquerade than Buffy.
The WWE had to pay White Wolf the makers of Vampire money for the Gangrel name when he was in the WWE. I still think Gangrel the wrestler pays White Wolf for the name to use on the indies.

Can people just stop romanticizing pedos :cryblood:

Well lets face it, TVtropes are full of closeted pedos (if there's a teenage character in live action and cartoons you bet your ass there gonna add alot of sexualized tropes in there.)

It's only when the time they called out pedophilia if it's self aware.

The creator of Brazilian comic Monica's Gang said in an interview that while exporting the animated adaptations, he had problems in some Muslim countries with one of the characters, hillbilly Chuck Billy (Chico Bento), who swims naked. The interviewer replied that the outcry was too much for such a small penis. Besides, Chuck Bully is a kid. Only a creepy pedophile would be "offended" by a little boy's penis
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/MaleFrontalNudity

"pffft! pedophiles being aware of their problem is stupid!"

The Simpsons actually used to have some Republican writers on it back in the day, most famously John Swartzwelder.

That's not really the case any more.
John Swartzwelder is a reclusive Libertarian weirdo. He'd fit in on here or on old 4chan's news board.

I've been watching Star Trek TNG and DS9 for the first time and I use TVT's recaps to just check stuff I might have missed from the episodes (and trivia). One thing I've noticed is some guy named SF Debris being mentioned all the time, but it became clear he was some ST reviewer so I didn't care too much. But I finally got curious and checked his TVT page. You know, maybe this guy is in reality a good reviewer, I haven't checked his stuff, but if these are examples on the type of embarrassing commentary he offers, then I don't think TVT's community (who are the ones adding quotes from these reviewers to the tropes!) has any right talking about how TV-shows should be written.
Really insightful, biting commentary.

It also made me wonder why TVT fellates movie and tv-show reviewers so much? TGWTG and co. have been talked about many times, also that mr Enter guy and several others. They're not even good reviewers (mainly guys you found funny when you were 13 years old) so why does TVT bring them up so much? You don't really need to add to a trope shit some screaming guy in his late 20s/early 30s thought, especially when their own pages are rarely critical about them.

1. Have you seen the early Pulaski episodes? She was a straight up bitch in those early episodes towards everyone with only Picard not having any patience for her shit. The Child is a stupid episode anyway with the whole alien babby energy being. I think that whole rant was Chuck losing it at having to review that episode

2. I don't really have a defense other than Lwaxana Troi is a telepath and prefers open honesty when dealing with non Betazeds like herself

Those quotes are maybe thirty second to a minute rants in 15-20 minute long reviews

Chuck can be :autism: at times in regards to Star Trek but is a step above the TGWTG reviewers. The Star Trek reviews are at least watching for the research and quite interesting viewpoints he has on them but the main problem is with Chuck is that the guy has full on spergouts when he really doesn't like things and is dealing with alot of stress with his mentally ill wife and being a single dad to his kids.

The SFdebris guy can be at times grating but compared to almost all of the folks associated with TGWTG he's better. He does do the research for most of his projects its not just recap the episode/movie and he has one other advantage. He never shows himself in the review. He's not there mugging for the camera like Doug does and pretend its funny for some reason no skits. Then again if you're comparing yourself to Doug almost any half decent reviewer seem good. Its a reason why Todd despite being an annoying jerk is still better than Doug as well he doesn't do skits or mugg for the camera.

i also think he did a reveiw or something for mlp too.
On the subject of tv tropes, i often dredge through it too. I'll admit that i am sucked into it as much the site claims you probably would. I don 't go into the forums at all, mostly for ideas for my own works, being the creative type. that does include the ymmv though, which on a side note why is it called that anyways.

Its Your Mileage May Vary and its to do with how much mileage your car can get from a tank of gas/petrol/diesel

The MLP review was a Patreon thing so I guess some spergy brony paid Chuck a wad of cash to review the show. I noticed Linkara keeps doing some strange reviews due to Patreon, truly we hope he reviews Sonichu one day.

The TV Tropes forums arent really worth the time of day to read through. If I want the opinion of random yahoos I can just browse 4chan or SA or here. The Real Life Trivia pages are a treat to read through.

On a tangent
Anyone watched the DStecks Sonichu reviews? I noticed watching a new Obscurus Lupa review DStecks is donating his betabucks to her

Well, we have a longer description on our site about what we are about, but here's the short version.

1. We don't censor stuff unless we legally have to. By the same token, you can trope and discuss hentai games and other adult works so long as you don't do so while typing with one hand. Just stick to the facts and keep what gets you off to yourself and we have no problems with that material being discussed and pages made for it.

2. Admins are not gods, the rules apply to us too. In fact, I myself personally have stepped down over incidents where I was in contravention of the rules, even did so willingly to set an example, and would happily do so again. We also are not above getting called out for screwing up, so long as you do so in a civil manner and bring up legitimate grievances concerning technical issues or bad admin decisions. Dissent is not treason as far as we are concerned.

3. We have a forum, but it's strictly limited to on-site related matters only. We decided the unfettered forum TV Tropes had caused a lot of the problems we wanted to avoid, like nasty fights over politics, creepy sex based RPs, and non site material can easily be discussed in other fora anyway.

4. We are transparent about enforcing the rules. None of that "closed doors decisions" crap unless it involves private information or legal matters that require discretion.

5. We go out of our way to be hands off on rule enforcement and being nice to newbies, as all of us despised what we saw as ironfisted BS on TV Tropes we wanted to get away from.

6. Finally, we are an alternative to TV Tropes, but we have no objection to people posting on both sites (though you have to be mindful of certain copyright rules when doing so), and we keep in touch with TV Tropes, as neither of us wishes to cause the other site undue trouble and have and will cooperate to deal with vandals and troublemakers that have plagued us both.
So which of the two versions of all the tropes are you working on. Or is it both of them? Either way, i respect you overall.

I run both the Wikia and Miraheze version. The Miraheze version is the main branch, the Wikia one is our Wikia community subsidiary.

And to be honest, I consider the Wikia branch a containment vessel of sorts, as a lot of banned former TV Tropes members (who generally deserved it for reasons I would have banned them for too) and some truly cancerous autists tend to show up at the Wikia branch, and while I try to winnow them out, the ones who prove to be good editors I try to invite to our Miraheze branch to cross pollinate their contributions if they so desire, and I will not deny once you get past the insufferable idiots I just mentioned, our Wikia branch has some great editors as well.

So the tv tropes wikia is actually better than the actual site itself?

It's the All The Tropes Wikia, and I wouldn't say "better" so much as I would say "better attempts are made to keep the more cancerous autism in check", though I'll let others be the judge how well I have succeeded.

So TVTropes have decided to start being a dick to people who use adblockers.

I am very lucky my Random Page hit one with a gigantic middle finger on it, though you can't see it behind the Linkara special. Turn off that pesky adblock! (Never mind the fact that all the advertisements will make your browser fucking chug!)

I think most of us are familiar with Getting Crap Past the Radar, that one trope that usually involves tropers looking too deep into innocuous jokes to find adult humor like autistic Beavises and Butt-heads. There's a page entirely dedicated to Radar examples in Steven Universe of all things.
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Radar/StevenUniverse

Some highlights.
  • The camera seems a little too interested in Pearl's butt whenever it's drawn more shapely and curved, such as in the final act of "Laser Light Cannon", "Tiger Millionaire", and, more blatantly, Amethyst's taunting in "Cat Fingers", where she morphs into Pearl and repeatedly smacks her rear while going "Whomp! Whomp!"
Leave it to tropers to stare at a cartoon character's ass.

  • Garnet snaps a Centipeetle in half and we see insides briefly.
Having seen this bit in question it's not nearly as bad as it sounds. It's literally just green. It's not like Billy and Mandy where you might actually see the character's insides.

Because ketchup is somehow equivalent to blood.

Sadie tells Steven a story about how Lars made her wait in line for 7 hours to buy a video game, but then afterwards they spent the whole night together.
Steven: That does sound nice. Must have been one great video game.
Sadie: (wide-eyed) Yeah...it was... (looks away)
Aren't these kids like 12? ETA: Turns out they're older. I don't watch the show so I wasn't aware of it.

  • Garnet claims that the Earth will be "janked" if the Kindergarten were to reactivate, which is basically slang for "fucked up". Amethyst's reaction to her word choice makes it clear that the naughty language was intentional: though it's not something most censors would block (except for the UK censors, as per usual), it's treated in-universe as a Precision F-Strike.
Remember that bit in Transformers: The Movie where Spike blurts out, "Oh shit!" This is absolutely nothing like that. Seriously, how is "janked" even considered a bad word?

  • When Peridot wiggles her finger out of Amethyst's whip to shock it so she can escape, it briefly looks like she's giving the Crystal Gems the finger.
Looks like. Not giving the finger. Looks like she's giving the finger. This shouldn't even count.

Sadie and Lars are highschoolers. They are sort of boyfriend and girlfriend in the show. Lars is a huge weenie cuck while Sadie is a dumb moron.

Also, is it just me, or do they obsessively hate media referencing modern pop culture? The "We're Still Relevant" page is weird and it seems they turn into shrieking harpies the moment somebody like Homer Simpson or Garfield talk about iPhones or current media. What's so "bad" about it? It's not like these characters didn't reference THEN current media when they first came out.
