If they remove those and the "This character mentions death. The actor has since died an unremarkable death after a long life. Ouch." the trope will have no examples left.
Somtimes you get actual trivia like "This character exploded, this is a reference to a law in Madeupistan that forbade spontaneous combustion" Most of the time though...yeah.
There is a recurring trend of them tolerating the most depraved pedo slop imaginable so long as it's not Japanese.
I figure this is because the Japanese seem to acknowledge a lot of things as fetishes, whereas for Liberal Tropers it's pure religious reverence

Oh boy. This is going to lead to a shitshow...

So, somebody got banned for disagreeing with the mods.

Ok, the good news is that there's an cleanup thread for reversing the autists' attempt at turning shit like "Hartmann Hips" into just a list of related tropes. The bad news is that out of the 80 pages that have been listed, only 5 of them went through. So, as you can expect, someone is mildly upset and REEE'd at the mods over it. The jannies pulled out the "time out chair" and started pretending that nothing's wrong with whatever the fuck that went on

Was there ever anything here about the TGWTG pages? I recall seeing people complaining about TGWTG’s Tvtropes pages, specifically the Nostalgia Critic’s, to the point where they had to remove edit history of the old page. Does anyone know what got removed? I just remember it being vulgar.

Why the fuck is Anvilicious considered a "positive" trope now?
As much as I want to say that the autists of the site would appreciate the concept of being repeatedly force-fed the same thing you've already seen...

It's probably just buried in one of their cleanup threads. The site basically has no idea what it wanted to be an Kory's still whining about the view counts whereas Fast Eddie just bitched about the coomer problem that he enabled

TVT used to have a sub-trope called “Some Anvils Need To Be Dropped,” which was where they put heavy-handed morality lessons they thought were important enough to warrant the lack of subtlety. It was purged for being redundant and too subjective, but users decided to instead start putting those examples in the main “Anvilicious” entries.

Because everyone wants to see a troper get a religious epiphany from a random Rick and Morty episode

Well that would explain why so many lukewarm takes have continually filtered in. It was a pointless category but nobody misses a chance to try to moralize on the internet.

They also have “Don't Shoot the Message” where TVT admits certain works stank and their preachiness probably didn't help, but they then assert that The Message™️ is still super-cereal and shouldn't be discounted because it's promoted by hacks. It seems a lot of the older uses of the previous trope may have gone there.

Oh they just changed the name then, that's literally the same shit. I've already seen half-baked attempts to crowbar that into nearly anything but that's just outright admitting it. With the single caveat that they admit it's garbage.

Okay, "treat your workers nicely" is not a communist message.
Sure, but commies have a frankly fetishistic obsession with unions that asserts that workers would be forced to work 23 hours a day every single day and be shot for stopping for even a second if not for unions (or more accurately, openly revolutionary unions). These are people that think there should be unions for coffee shop baristas, and that said unions should go on strike the minute they are asked to do their jobs, so I feel that their idea of “being nice to workers” is a bit more than ensuring they have safe workspaces and dental coverage.

Sounds just like that one antiwork subreddit.
