Can't find the post (it's hidden really deep in the discussion section of the Pantheon page, no one would look just for a single little post) but the reason they removed the Disgraces section is because they thought that they wouldn't be better than the characters that were put on there.

They are so retarded that they actually compare themselves or some characters on the same level as a real life existent people, not because they realized how spergy they are.

Also, someone sneakily put in Enter there a long time ago and it got removed.

I was browsing the Shrek page, and, well...

Of course it's a Hitler reference. It's always a Hitler reference.

Apart from the diaper fetishist paedophile Chagen, who has a thread on this site already, one of the most infamous tropers is Deboss. While he has been inactive for years, back in the day he was infamous for being one of the biggest cretins on the site.

http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Tropers/Deboss

The first thing I see on his profile page is "Prepare to reward me with sexual favors!". This is promising.

Anyway, he was infamous for his irrational hatred of classic literature, and wanted theatre to stop existing because he didn't like it. This led to him getting utterly BTFO on this blog:

Critic Profile: Deboss
Deboss views himself as a critic of literature. He likes to freely hand out his opinions on books, their importance, and what works have real literary value.

"The mandatory component for English is both too large and too focused on 'classics'. Any literature that has to be required to get readership, isn't a book worthy of being read. I honestly can't think of any exceptions. History of literature would also be cut from any class that doesn't have "history" in the name, and none of them would be required. There's nothing worth learning there unless someone is already interested. ...Also, no state funded field trips to go see plays. They're a form of art that will hopefully die soon anyway."Deboss is a literary critic in the same sense that a tapeworm is a food critic.

Hey look, it's Guy Fieri.
Deboss-- whose avatar is an anime girl's ass-- is who inspired this blog post. The things Deboss has to say about books are the most insipid things I have ever heard in my life, and the fact that he's allowed to post on a site that supposedly bans people for being too negative is why I decided to highlight the goddamn morons who populate that site's literature discussions.
"My advice would be to further promote Table Top Games since those require reading and interpretation without all the bullshit that normal literature classes have. Combined with the fact that children are rarely if ever exposed to anything worth reading, it's not surprising that they don't pick it up." Deboss thinks that a D&D Player's Manual offers more to the soul than "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock." Deboss is such an idiot that it makes me wonder if his skull is still soft, but then I realize that it must actually be pretty thick because how else do you explain the fact he wasn't aborted?
"Shakespeare was the most unpleasant work I've ever been exposed to. I've seen most of Uwe Bol and Seltzer Burger work, and I'm including it in that statement. Part of the unpleasantness comes from the idea that it's impossible to dislike it, and the answer is greater exposure to Shakespeare. The sooner the works of Shakespeare are forgotten, the better. Given the power, I'd make teaching it a capitol offense."
Deboss is to literary criticism as John Wayne Gacy was to the world of comedy, and Deboss's posts are to my faith in humanity as John Wayne Gacy was to fifteen-year-old boys. Deboss has a college degree and only books he reads are Animorphs and Star Wars novels-- and he thinks this makes him smarter than the rest of us. Deboss is such an idiot he can't even manage to be illiterate correctly. The process by which his brain tries to shit out intelligent thought most closely resembles a botched suicide.

Deboss thinks this should be taught in schools and Orwell shouldn't.

While I broadly agree with this man's evaluation of Deboss, it's important to note that Deboss isn't actually an engineer, and worked at Home Depot. Much like his fellow lolcows Brianna Wu and Holbrook Christiana, his engineering prowess is on paper only.

My favourite part of this is the part where he wants to make teaching Shakespeare an offence to the Capitol Building, whatever that means.

Why do I think I've heard this guy before? I remember hearing a guy who hated classic literature and loved anime so much.

Deboss had little or nothing to say about anime; his autistic love are the Animorph books and D&D manuals.

And The Triumph/Triumphant, the writer of that blog post, is an SJW goon who sees racism in everything (Tropers saying they don't like rap especially get him and his fellow goons crazy). I bet he is right at place in today's TV Tropes.

That was probably another troper. There are far too many of them.

I didn't know that. The blog's been inactive since 2012, so I don't know if he uses TV Tropes now or not. He still did a good job having a go at Deboss, though.

I have to admit I've never been a fan of the Something Awful Forums. They have an elitist, NeoGAF style pretension they are better than the rest of the internet when it's been proven in some ways they make the septic tanks of the chans look like a perfume bottle.

And a LOT of their hatred of TV Tropes, while I admit they made some scarily accurate commentary, some of which has been paid heed, the mass majority of it came off as the cringiest attempts at trollshielding this side of ADF, not helped by all the degenerates SA has been proven to have and still is willing to shield to some extent.

On the other hand, I can't say I'm not grateful to them. The commentary they pointed out I did take valuable lessons from is that tropers tend to be shallow hacks who consider tropes lego blocks, are far too obsessed with popular media instead of actual literature, some tropes names really are stupid, circlejerkey crap that is of little use to prospective writers, and they were quite on the ball about how it's a breeding ground for creepy BS if you don't police certain parts of the site constantly.

On those grounds, I cannot say they are wrong.

Stopped clocks are right twice a day. I don't like Something Awful either but they were right that TV Tropes is full of autism and deviance, especially back then.

There was actually a time when a lot of the fun stuff going on on the Internet originated from SA in some way.

The problem is the SJW vermin who currently inhabit it were never responsible for any of that. They are the maggots who are gnawing on the corpse of what they murdered. Long, long ago they drove away the only people who could honestly take credit for any of that.
