Not quite sure if worthy of being posted here (some of the show's points about the topics at hand I agree with), but here's a few excerpts from the YMMV section for The Boys:

Methinks the Tropers couldn't be more obvious about what side politically they think is right and not.

And this is why I never watched this pseudo-edgy bullshit

I myself decided to ask them why they seemed to be acting so critical and smug about the film, and Fighteer had this to say in response.

Even here, when he says that he enjoyed it, he still has to include some sort of caveat.
This guy seems like he would be such miserable company to keep. My brain doesn't shut down if I see cool shots in a film. If anything, it's the opposite: processing how they did it and how it all strings together, etc. Would love something like this said from the same group about Marvage like Avengers, Deadpool, or Dr. Strange.

I dunno, would that actually ruin America?

About Zimos…. i feel like their belief that unionizing prostitution somehow makes a pimp seem benevolent to the average person says a lot about TVTropes.

This one just baffles me - they keep using the term scrimshaw to refer to the tattoo artist from SR2. I have never heard a tattoo artist called a scrimshaw, can’t find it in UD or Webster’s. Is this a thing?

I really hate the modern concept that the problem with prostitution is that it isn't unionized and respected, and not that pimps are by nature usually abusive thugs that trap women into working for them. But I guess that is to be expected for people that are so sexually depraved that they want to be able to buy a whore any night to get their rocks off without considering the potential victimhood of their purchases.

One of the directors is Seth Rogen so you can expect what’s gonna happen.

It's a recurring theme in progressive politics that hedonism is fine and dandy, actually, and any problems it may appear to cause are actually the fault of ~society~
This is used to excuse everything from eating excessive amounts of junk food to pedophilia.

Not much, except for this, and an excerpt from the Fridge section for the film.

Lel.

As for the fridge section about the rogue nation, I can just as well come up with an autistic rant, albeit one that puts a positive spin on the Navy's actions:

Since the "rogue nation" is seemingly based on Iran, the argument can be made that said nation already hadn't been exactly a friend to the US before the attack. The fact that it ran a nuclear weapons development program can be seen as a legitimate threat to the security of the US, one that is not to be taken lightly, and therefore justifies the preemptive strike. But Tropers cannot think further than "America bad".

The sperging about female characters is just "muh wahmen" and not deserving of interest.

I agree with that. Iirc, when Iran tried to enrich Uranium years ago, the US, Israel and I think one other country hacked it so that the Iranians wouldn't be able to create nukes. The only thing surprising about the plan in Top Gun is that the US was that unsubtle about it.

That was Stuxnet and it was directed at the software controlling their centrifuges, literally causing them to wreck themselves.

So they don't seem to relaize that not everyone who likes or saw the movie are right wing?

Also I love how they assume people who hate wokness also hate black or Hispanic characters in general.

Like just maybe the characters weren't written like shit and are actually good written characters that see them like real people and not soapboxes.

A lot of social-justice leftism is built on a very black-and-white concept of morality and beliefs: you either support their cause and shoving in a dozen tokens into every script without concern of actor's merit or threats to verisimilitude, or you are a genocidal racist that hates the very idea of nonwhites appearing in media. They will ignore all of history in favor of their narrative, and it only makes things worse from there.

Take Star Wars, for instance. After Moses Ingram was criticized for being a bad actor who felt tacked-on to fill a diversity quota, everyone acted like the problem was old Star Wars fans who were so racist that they couldn't stand the idea of a black person in their "Movie about Space Wizards," a line previously used to shout down people that didn't think that John Boyega was a good fit for a main protagonist. Of course, this ignored nearly four decades of fans being virtually colorblind in regards to the cast, to the point that James Earl Jones has become one of the most iconic voices in American Culture, Billy Dee Williams became a minor sex symbol, and Samuel L Jackson was considered one of the best things in the prequel trilogy. But no, none of that mattered, all because one black chick was criticized for being hostile to the fandom.

Oh Moses Ingram. I didn't relaize their was drama there. Mostly because I been staying out of that staff lately to keep my self sane. From what I seen so far in Kenobi. She's a ok actress but not an amazing actress. Like the show weren't be any different if she wasn't in it. I'm not surprised she's hostel towards the fans. I notice most young black actors are encourage to insult the fans of certain franchises.

I agree it's wrong to call the fans racist when prior to wokness taking over entertainment. There were no problems with the previous black actors as everyone loved them and their characters. Darth Vader well beloved and James Earl Jones voice is part of that. Most star wars nerds geek out about the guy.
