It's funny, I was just thinking the same thing. the real life section of the Powder Keg Crowd page features a mention of such events as the LA Riots and Woodstock 99, but not one mention of last year's riots, despite several of the George Floyd protests turning unambiguously violent.

Of course, even if they did put in a bit, they'd probably blame muh racism and the EEEEEVIL PIGS!!!, and generally downplay the extent of the looting and destruction.

I’d also note that they really misinterpreted the shoplifting incident in their write-up of the LA riots. The narrative that a black teen was shot over a bottle of orange juice is mostly false: the shopkeeper that capped her was a short middle-aged Korean-American woman who the “victim” had just roughed up over being confronted when she put the juice in her bag (classic shoplifting move, by the way), not some imposing Korean dude who shot shoplifters on sight. Just to demonstrate the point of how TVT likes to downplay events to make their side seem justified.

To the surprise of nobody, the guy that I was making fun of yesterday was banned for being a control freak on the wiki.

Chances are that someone might have posted the truth about these incidents, but they've probably been edited out and buried beneath the portion of the history that's publicly accessible.

And going by an earlier incident, accurately pointing out the violence is "an alt-right dog whistle," by there standards.

Is that the narrative liberals use about the LA riots now? I don't think issues with Korean shop owners were mentioned much except in passing, it was 100% connected to the Rodney King beating by the media, and I don't remember hearing anyone justifying them.

As I get older it's funny to see the generational difference on the historiography from a crowd that was mostly not alive when it happened.

Shortly before 10:00 am on Saturday, March 16, Harlins entered the store. Du observed Harlins putting a $1.79 bottle of orange juice in her backpack. Du concluded Harlins was attempting to steal, and did not see the money Harlins held in her hand. Du claimed to have asked Harlins if she intended to pay for the orange juice, to which Du claimed Harlins responded, "What orange juice?" Two eyewitnesses—9-year-old Ismail Ali and his 13-year-old sister Lakeshia Combs—disputed that claim, saying that Du called Harlins a "bitch" and accused her of trying to steal, to which they claimed Harlins replied that she intended to pay for the orange juice.[11] After speaking with the two eyewitnesses present and viewing the videotape of the incident, recorded by a store security camera, the police concluded that Harlins intended to pay for the beverage with money in hand.

There is a reason many gas stations have a 'no backpacks in store' policy, 9/10 its like you say, common with shoplifters. I don't know that much about this incident enough to justify it one way or the other, but the video online it isn't as obvious as wikipedia makes it out to be.

Fuck.
YOU.

How does someone miss the point that badly? The reason people bring up the movie is that it is a demonstration of something that is blatantly satirical and mocking of virtually everyone, and that modern political correctness would never let it fly because some of the many groups it made fun of were minorities. Nobody would allow Blazing Saddles to be made today, but they would absolutely allow a movie build around a very one-sided and mean-spirited mockery of straight white men.

We shit on TVTropes a lot, so I actually wanted to take a quick second to say to whoever wrote this “This is an exellent entry and as someone who hates the Light fan worship, thank you for writing it so straightforwardly and even-handedly.” I would argue that the sanitation is from both guys and girls, but I will concede that for guys the support for him is mostly due to agreeing his methods are “pragmatic” or whatever.

And now, with that out of the way, let’s get back to shitting on them.
Witcher 3, though in fairness, this may be a case of them just reporting on stupidity.

Far Cry 3:
Someone apparently not understanding that the pilots playing Ride of the Valkyries in Apocalypse Now was not supposed to be a positive thing.

And either not understanding irony, r not understanding the definition of insanity quote (doing the same thing in a different way is not the same as doing the same thing over and over).

This point about the ring around Buck’s neck shows up in at least 2 different entries on his character page and 4 more times on the other pages. Clearly someone knows this from experience and is very proud of that fact. 9C2AA50B-8B88-4A97-AD62-9ED3C90D3294.jpeg

Far Cry 4:
Someonehad previously mentioned that TVTropes members clearly think voice actors are important stars, and I think this is a great example:

They don’t even mention her name, just a link straight to her page. Apparently it’s an entry for Laura Bailey, who I have at least sort of heard of, but I had no idea who Travis Willingham is, and I bet Ubisoft doesn’t care.

Also, in the “nothing is ever good enough” we have a full paragraph of complaining about sexism.

and complaining about something that isn’t even actually true:

and from Tales of Maj’Eyal, someone complaining because they suck at the game(the second entry, the first one is somewhat valid):

and last, from In Cold Blood - I’ll admit, I can‘t tell if this is TvTropes once again overreacting to minor wordchoices to make their own gay fanfic headcanon or if I’m being optimistic, but I choose to believe it’s the former.

I know that the "Valkyrie Helicopters" was supposed to be a bad thing in the movie, but that song has become synonymous with helicopters raining death upon their enemies thanks to that damn movie. Hoyt had also played the song in a prior encounter, so it was a sort of call-back combined with the spectacle of being able to have your own Valkyrie ride. Having played the game, it's hard to deny that it was pretty cool.

And let's face it, white women.
