"It`s a [visibly-female-orientated-entertainment-in-a-traditionally-male-franchise/medium] situation. "

To quote from the I'm Not Starfire discussion.

I like the more normal people who are saying stuff like, even YA folks hate it (because the character is an unlikable bint who I was hoping Doomsday would punt into the fucking moon) and then the True Believers are saying its just them damn dirty comicsgaters who only hate it because Woman, and not literally everything else about it.

The craziest thing is, and I could be wrong, way back before TVT completely lost the plot, I think I got linked to Encyclopedia Dramatica from a creator's page. No way in hell that happens now.

I mean tbf it would be pretty cringe to link to Encyclopedia Dramatica in current year anyways.

That wouldn't be surprising. They even had a page for ED that was mostly neutral and just said how ED likes to offend people and most of their targets aren't upstanding people themselves. Notably, the page said how ED gave TV Tropes a "surprisingly positive review", but this was like 2008/2009 before Fast Eddie really started going crazy and people started looking into the weird fetishy side of TVT. At that point, the ED page started tearing into TV Tropes and on the TVT side the ED page was replaced with a short description and permalocked.

I wanna say the Sonichu paged linked to ED since half that page discussed Chris's own life and as I mentioned earlier was probably the funniest page on the site and a great Cliff Notes version of CWC.

But in the end, it's Eddie's fault that he can't react positively to criticism, in addition to failing to reign in his coomers. Which is the same thing that lolcows usually do whenever someone calls them out on their BS.

IIRC, the ED page was deleted, a few years ago.

And the old Sonichu page started with a message denouncing Chris and begging him to get some help.

In the wake of the Matrix 4 trailer, guess what they have down for Misaimed Fandom for the franchise?

"Fuck both of you"

Fuck you, Wachowski, and fuck the dickriders at TV Tropes.

Pretend all you want that you're kings and queens, but at the end of the day, you're just privileged, butthurt, holier-than-thou cocksuckers who ought to be put legs first through a meat grinder.

That's too bad Troon Bros., at this point it's a meme with no ownership. It's like the pathetic attempts to 'reclaim' Pepe by his author.

Tropers (and wikipedia) really misunderstand 'blackpill', as an aside. It long branched out far beyond incel 'culture', and is now basically the same thing as doomers, I see the terms used interchangeably.

The redpill being an allegory for transgender pills is fucking retarded since with the redpill in the movie it’s something you don’t want but need to face a harsh reality. To compare it to transgender stuff is dumb and the Wachowski’s are just pulling a JK Rowling

Well according to trans people, them becoming trans is them waking up to what their true identity was all along, and they needed to become it in order to see the truth and move on from their assumed and now dead identities.

Also, TV Tropes has this in the "Heartwarming" section for the new Matrix film.

The Matrix is just Plato's story of the cave, mixed with a bunch of school shooter looking 1337 H4X0rZ.

Also, while I never saw the sequels (I barely liked the first) wasn't it revealed that the red pill was all another layer of bullshit? I mean, I find that funny, but if true, maybe the Wachowski's wish to rethink their analogy?

It was a fan theory after the end of the 2nd matrix but ultimately no. Neo just had powers in real life for some reason.

Heck an old website that did thumbnail comedy recaps of movies made the joke that the climax of Mtarix 3 is just DragonballZ.

Hasn't this been confirmed that the Wonder Troons are lying. When Kenu Reeves stated he had no memory of that being the case and the movie being about.

I don't think they're necessarily lying, but they definitely didn't intend it as strongly as they are portraying it now. The youtuber JustSomeGuy had a pretty good video on why it was a load of shit. The red pill works as a literary device, because its vague and can be any type of awakening to the truth, it could be trooning out, coming out as gay, finding God, losing your faith, or literally anything else. It works because if you watch the film, it can speak to anyone. If it was trans specific like they say, it wouldn't have resonated, as less than a percent of the population would give a fuck.

I don't know if Keeanu said that, but nothing from the time really would indicate that, except in an early draft, a side character was arguably trans, as they were a different sex in the Matrix than in the waking world, but that doesn't prove their statement, it just means that it might have also been considered.

No their clear lier by the fact that the movie has religious undertones in it

The religious undertones were there in the sources, including PKD. Whether or not they ripped it off directly, Ubik obviously had the underpinnings of much of what went into the Matrix. The whole reality-as-a-simulation thing predates Dick, but he was the primary philosophical architect of its current version.

And yes, Ubik was years before he experienced what could be described as anything between a schizophrenic meltdown and a religious epiphany. It's really impossible to encapsulate in a short post how profound his experience was, but his literary relation of it in novels like VALIS make it hard to write it off as just the lunacy of a drug addict losing his shit. And he also wrote more than a million words, rivalling even his own prolific published output, analyzing his experience, considering theories ranging from that he'd actually had knowledge from God beamed directly into his head from space to the more mundane consideration that "hmm, maybe I am just a fucking crazy person who had a schizophrenic breakdown."

It's hard to view his dissociation from reality, if that's what it was, as a bad thing. If he really did just have a breakdown, why did his writing get so phenomenally excellent afterward? Why is The Transmigration of Timothy Archer so absolutely amazing? This can't just be the ramblings of a lunatic.

Anyway, if the Matrix shit from the Wachowski troon sisters tickled your itch, I'd suggest actually just diving headfirst into Dick's Exegesis, as currently published, even if it's a 900+ page rant of what might be pure insanity and what might be the secret truth of the universe. There's probably plenty more that will eventually be published. Even that gigantic tome is selectively edited.
