They even do it for Wil Wheaton, FFS.
Well of course, to them he's one of the pinnacles of nerd culture at this point.

At the same time though, I get it, you want to at least point out "Hey, I didn't know this actor was also in this!" which is why sites like IMDb exist (for better or worse). But to treat VAs (or just any actor in general) like they're on a fucking pedestal is just another sign of their autism.

In other words, it's not necessarily the trope that's the problem, it's the tropers thinking that actors worth more than they actually are. In fact, I'd argue this for almost any page on anything the site covers if you ask me.

Harsher in Hindsight: A surprise candidate mostly known for a TV show running against lifetime politicians, and gaining a massive following mostly by saying ridiculous things? Yeah, seemed funnier before Donald Trump became President of the United States. Charlie Brooker commented on this.
  • Even worse is the ending implying a childish mascot figure becoming a symbol of a fascist movement against its creator's will, mirroring the alt-right and its adoption of Pepe the Frog. The Agony Booth named it a "TV Episode That Predicted Trump" for good reason.

  • Some Anvils Need to Be Dropped: The anti-racism message of the final chapter, where a black man is falsely accused, executed, and constantly tortured for the amusement of tourists (who, after the protests slowed traffic, became almost exclusively racists). The episode title takes on a hideous double meaning once we know the main attraction of the "Black" Museum.

people like this are the reason sci-fi just keeps on getting dumber.

I really hate the YMMV pages cause it feels like some fans post on there to post their opinions, and act like it represents a good chunk of fans.

EDIT:

For example, a fan posts how a character they hate is the scrappy when they don't receive that much hate within the fandom while another fan puts a universally hated character in Base-Breaking character cause they love that character.

I've seen cases of both happening

The awkward moment when you realise that some tropers are probably jerking off to pictures of Doug Walker. The even more awkward moment when you realise they're proud of it.

Not even Lord Kat is safe (not going to tag him, he's already suffered enough) as seen here.
This troper couldn't be the only one that squeed when Lord Kat ate that strawberry during the Dragon Ball Evolution review. It definitely hit the Erotic Eating fetish button. *blushes*

They all look so fucking lumpy and average tho? Doug mostly looks like some average guy working at an office and then coming home to the wife and kids and smoke a pipe while reading the newspaper.

Where's the attraction?

Also I loled at the Jewwario page.

At worst he looks like that weirdo who always creeps on single moms in department stores

It's good that this got rebutted below, but it pains me that somebody thought the first point in the first place. Also I'd bet everything I own on the fact this is an opinion held only by this editor.

Kyle, in fairness to him, sings pretty well. Panda, unsurprisingly, sings better. Brentalfloss, although he was always more of a hanger-on, at least had the musical know-how to stick to Rex Harrison-style 'speak-singing'. The rest range from mediocre at best to painful at worst.

Inner qualities, my friend. How many office guy can you name who would screech like a toddler and be obsessed with cartoons?
