Considering you're spending $600 billion a year to be humiliated in literally every war you get involved in, it might not be a bad idea.
 
If it can cut costs and increase security, I'm all for it, but giving Erik Prince his own private mercenary air force in Afghanistan doesn't seem like a good idea. Anyone other than Erik Prince... please.

legit, though, i actually have a problem with this.

mercs don't have to follow ROE, for example. also not a huge fan of private companies getting paid to perpetuate death and destruction for profit.

It's kind of hard for me not to see this as paving the way for rich fucks to buy up private armies and kill indiscriminately in order to protect their perceived business or political interests without being subject to rules of engagement (or, indeed, the Geneva Convention).

That's fucked up.
