I still like what Takara releases, most notably their MPG and Adamas Machina figures, the prices definitely could be lower, but the quality is still there by and large. Hasbro on the other hand is only releasing more subpar figures with a higher price that don't correlate to the quality of the figure and i'm fairly certain by this point i have more Takara and 3rd party figures then stuff by Hasbro. Strangely, hasbro's best figures happen to be obscure characters or those who rarely recieve releases, such as Quickstrike and Big Convoy. Quickstrike quite literally only had 2 figures of him, the 1998 original one and the transarts 3rd party Quickstrike that had some glaring problems, the Age of The Primes Quickstrike is undoubtedly the best figure he has recieved and it makes me wish Hasbro could keep that consistent quality they give to certain characters
Big thing that bugs me is the unnecessary cut corners with figures the last few years. Armada megatron and laser prime's arms being weird due to them turning the actual shoulder into a flap, armada megatron and a few other figures the last few years going back to fucking haslab unicron having weird half-painted parts, sculpting in fake joints and hinges on remakes of figures but just putting a 5mm port over something that should move, or making something that just slid in every other version of a character into an overengineered "fold out the whole torso tot hen flip a pinned hinge that gets stressed to make a fake slid out panel" thing.

I'm half awake right now so this might not be coming out as clear as I'd like rant wise.

According to a guy who's working with the factory a Black Zarak version is planned for late February/early March. The same guy's store has a reissue of the base version up for preorder.
Interesting! The reason I even considered getting this figure sometime soon was because I saw some places had it marked down to cheaper than the official scorponok and the amount of raw effort visibly put into it. Hoping the marked down tidal wave guy's repaint isn't fully cancelled even if it's not the same company and there's no way I'd be able to do full price for them lmao. If I had more money I'd probably get a second one and try repainting it myself lmao. Fingers would be tricky but it's really as simple as making the light gray bronze and the head and pontoons a faded green with a simulated metallic rust effect on the latter.

EDIT: quick and dirty edit showcasing how easy it should be

I've never had any issues with ShowZStore themselves, I've just found that these courier services are a crapshoot. My guess is that the Slav delivering it didn't want to drive out to my house so he just reported that he couldn't deliver it.
I have the same issue with the curry niggers Amazon keeps hiring. They're too lazy to buzz the gate so they'll either leave or they'll just drop the parcels on the side of the street. Canada Post will ring the buzzer or go through the side gate for smaller parcels once they find out about it. We have more white people delivery our mail though.

Kids got me two versions of the Marvel Comic sets They look great on the Autobot and decepticon shelf. Forgot that they were going to have the UK comics in them. I like them more than the Haptek chair and new swivel keyboard tray for my simrig my wife got me. Quality could be better but it's not like Ill open them again. Now I need some steel case bluray sets for the show and movie to go along with the Transformers the Movie vinyl I have.

Third party tidal wave arrived at some point today/yesterday, too tired to make shelf space for it and open it but I'm likely gonna save the box like I did the last third party guy I got... ten years ago... fuck. EDIT: wait no there were a few others afterwards I forgot about the DX9 and KFC stuff I got on sale for cheap a few years later. Still doesn't feel like that long

ANYWAYS I'm psised cause that one's box (SG train optimus prime) got dented at some point withint he last few months, no clue how that happened but yeah the train optimus' box is fucking dented ont he corner pretty hard but it's a small spot.
unlike the third party MP twincast which is yeah destroyed and squished completely but that was due to the dog deciding to make it her bed one time.

There's a surreal amount of love and care put into the packaging of unofficial transformers. This tidal wave in particular is a painstakingly recreated window box look of the original figure as I remember seeing it in stores.

SD plug is still MIA so I'm just gonna use images from image search.

It's not 1 to 1 but it's crazy how even the individual segments are packed in a similar manner.

big difference is one is near titan height and a lot more stylized, as well as PURPLE LIKE THE ASIA RELEASE THAT WAS NOT WINDOW BOXED

It actually fucking astounds me how Internet review people keep saying the legacy one's better because a few inches of height and "oh it's just a big robot and doesn't transform normally so it's more stable" as if the fucking titans that retained their features and gimmicks and didn't partsform from the last 10 years weren't. One thing I'll say the legacy one has on this is the amount of nice greebling in the sculpt which has the spirit of the original figure. The actual sculpting itself though is lacking in shape and definition compared to the third party one in terms of making the individual boat modes look like boats, something the third party AND the original do very well even if the boats aren't the most realistic.

EDIT: Found an image that also showcases the fucked up shaping of legacy tidal wave compared tot he original I think I rambled about before. Tired.
