I’d argue that it’s totally the wrong question to ask, because what it’s saying is, “Would you become the opposite sex if there was no effort, sacrifice or possibility of failure?”

I think there are a lot of things that people would be under those circumstances. If you said to someone, “Would you become a professional athlete if you could just press a button to do it?” I imagine a lot of people would say yes to that as well. But if they aren’t prepared to put the time and effort in, they aren’t athlete material.

The real question should be, “You cannot biologically become a woman. At best, you will achieve the appearance of a woman, but there is no guarantee of this. Most of the photos of passing trans women are carefully posed and doctored. Here are the medical pitfalls. Here are the social pitfalls. Here are the financial pitfalls. The process will take years and is not reversible. With all that in mind, would you still transition?”

I saw this post somewhere else and someone mentioned that this is proof that troons secretly see transitioning as a harmful thing and trans culture in itself is one big celebration of self harm. Why else would you weaponize "life saving care" against your enemies?

I think it's more akin to annoying parental figures. These are in reality, growth stunted children and they love fucking with people who they perceive as deserving it. It's like how boys in primary school flicking boogers on girls or siblings getting physical with each other or rebellion against familial figures when they say no to something. I can parse their exact mindset, they think it's transgressive and it's triggering the pearl clutchers when it's just gross and weird like a person who pees on themselves and wallows in the pee puddle (trannies have probably done that as well).

I'm curious what the people who hit "disagree" on my comment with studies validating women's prisons as having more SO than men's disagreed with?

I haven't finished reading all the stuff you posted yet cause I have to work, but it seems like the entire first half of the document about youth being victimized doesn't separate data by sex, so it doesn't tell me how many cases had female perpetrators vs male perpetrators.
It also seems like most of the sexual abuse you're referring to is done by staff to inmates, so again, the pattern of more female perpetrators than male perpetrators isn't revealing itself. Also, how much of that "sexual assault in women's prisons" is perpetrated by males who are transwomen, and therefore recorded as female?
If women sexually offend as much - or even more! - than men, and there's so much more sexual offending in women's prisons, then why are troons trying so hard to get in there?

Well that was the most unsafe I’ve felt in a while.​

So every St Paddy’s I dress up as a leprechaun and pass out candy in my city before/while doing a bar crawl. It’s to celebrate my hrt day, which is March 17th.
This year, my friends and I wound up at the bar attached to my favorite restaurant in town. People expect me there on St Paddy’s and were happy to see me. Lots of drunken hugs and chocolate coins to go around.
Fast forward ten minutes, and some drunk idiot gets on a chair and demands everyone’s attention before rambling on about how “Mr. trump” is the incarnation of god and something stupid about Noah’s ark and shit.
And I’ll be damned if all but maybe two other people in that packed bar cheered.
People noticed our table got quiet and even confronted us about it and took photos of us. It’s not like they have any clue I’m trans. But still. I’ve never had the hair on the back of my neck stand on end like that. A lot of these people I didn’t know well, but were still people I knew. The owner of the bar, who was stoked to see me, made a ton of excuses for this man when I immediately went to pay our tab and leave.
Today is usually a day about trans joy for me. Giving back to the community in some small way, because my transition has given me so much joy I simply have to give it away. But now I just feel bitter and sad. Guess you never really know people like you think you do. I’ll never get a drink or tacos there again as long as I live.

Any have advise for me? I got misdiagnosed with gender dysphoria and now I regret transitioning and srs.

Just told a new friend I'm trans and got humiliated​

I told someone I have been hanging out with recently that I'm trans, thinking they would be supportive after gauging their temperament, and I was dead wrong.
They humiliated me and called me a man and told me I will never be a woman.
I have been transitioning for 12 years now, transphobia never changes and it never stops being painful or showing up in unexpected places.

Asking for some help dealing with a student who makes transphobic remarks at me. I'm a 6th year teacher and have never experienced it to this level.

I am a music teacher and recently assigned a rap project. I am also a trans man. I have not discussed being trans with the students however some of them do know.

I have had a few remarks from this student like at least I know my gender etc. After disciplining disruptive behaviors. This student is in 6th grade. I have called hone and written referrals each time. The last time the student was suspended from music class for 2 days and this was their 2nd class back.

In their rap that the student submitted for a grade they wrote a line that said "You said you don't play favorites but you're actually autistic. You say that you're a man but we all know that isn't true"

I brought the assignment to my administrator. He told me to think of what I would like their consequence to be. I told him I'm not really sure it's uncharted territory for me. They are already missing out on future major events for other behavioral reasons. He told me to think about it and get back to him and I really have no idea.

I told him it doesn't upset me personally but this kind of behavior and language shouldn't be tolerated. He told me if it doesn't upset me I wouldn't have brought it to him.

What I'm worried about though is that she will think that kind of harassment is permissible and will do it to other students. Middle school is a hard time for kids especially ones struggling with their identity and I don't want this student making comments like that to vunerable students.

Her parents are a teacher in my department and on the school board.

Genuinely asking for advice on how to handle this. What should I tell my principal about the students consequences.

We went over expectations for rap topics for a LONG time and I didn't get one other inappropriate rap from the other 50 students I did this with.

Admin talked to the parent who was aparently defensive. This student is going to be removed from class until further notice and I'm going to provide work for them to do alone. Thank you all for your great advice.

ALSO:

The amount of transphobic messages I've gotten from this post is very sad. I would not expect music educators to feel this way. Music is often a safe space for gender non conforming kids and I hope that you can see that trans people existing doesn't hurt you in any way.
