I know they did not choose this (reality) in particular. But my statement was more of a flailing, grasping at straws attempt to even attempt to rationalise how the fuck someone gets themselves to this point. The deliberate detachment of the reality of the surgery by themselves, the surgeons, the community is terrifying. Oh well, the story can stand as a quick reference on yet another reason not to cut your dick off I guess.

I actually feel genuinely sorry for anybody getting "bottom surgery". I feel like far fewer people would get it if the surgeons described the risks accurately:

"Oh, it's really expensive, it's an express train (no stops) to a place of neverending body horror and Hellraiser-level pain, your genitals will look like a Lovecraftian elder god--something witnesses can't describe after but they know it was real real bad, it won't solve any of your gender dysphoria and you are just as likely to kill yourself after the surgery as you were before it. Also, once the main surgery is over I don't want to ever hear you kvetch about your body disintegrating in front of your eyes because I'm a surgeon and you are nobody, you bag of trash with a wallet."

That’s what bothers me. Call me a bleeding heart or whatever but I do still feel empathy for them. It’s called “informed consent“ and they don’t inform them about shit. I’ve seen a ton of females on testosterone say they had no idea that it could cause vaginal atrophy and that was after the “informed consent” This is so much worse.

I only glance at r/transgender_surgeries occasionally, but nothing there looks like recognizable human anatomy. This man in particular didn't even meet with his surgeon for a pre-op appointment.

I think my parents are still processing, but I received an outpouring of positivity from my friends. The kids have taken it in stride and things are better than ever with my wife (she's known since May).
This space definitely helped while I was staying under the radar.

He has a responsibility to be the father to his kids; he should be playing catch with them in the yard. Instead he's mutilated himself, and openly talking of suicide while his kids are still young (he's about 42.) Hell, he's not even thinking about what all this has done to his kids; I can't imagine what they are going through watching their father be hospitalized for weeks at a time.

He's a narcissist who put himself above his family and responsibilities as a father.

Posts like these make it so that when other liberal Massholes trot out that “lifesaving surgery” line, even when I know they’re just brainwashed normies, I want to force them to read some of these stories from the people who got such “lifesaving” care and ask them if they honestly think these people are better off. Jfc, is it so hard to grasp that mentally ill people shouldn’t drive the bus on their own care? If someone suicidal says they really really want to jump off a bridge, they get detained in hospital, not given directions to the nearest lethal drop. If someone wanted their perfectly healthy right leg removed because they have a fetish for being crippled, I don’t think any surgeon is going to go for it, much less insurance pay for it! But a diff standard appears to apply for tranny care. They don’t need “gender care”; they need a fuckin psychiatrist.
