Since Rich Aldridge is involved with the End Times I would assume that it is in an infinitely better state than WH3 at launch or Shadows of Change.
I've the slightest dose of hopium. Wouldn't be surprised if this was delayed to fall/winter though.

At this point I just desperately want them to work on and expand the base Empire roster. Cathay and Kislev both hilariously power crept them, especially when it comes to line infantry.
Yeah they've made Cathay and kislev retard-proof with the infantry buffs. Otherwise chaos warriors would rape the mouthdroolers using kossar/peasant stacks. I doubt this will change.

Not sure if they'll adjust the empire stats but they will get new units probably all related to Boris/Ulric.

Seriously, Tzeentch is so underwhelming that I have only played that faction less than five times over the course of multiple years. They better fucking add him. He's been requested for years, easily one of the top five most requested characters.
I really like Tzeentch but the way they work in WH3 is not great to be honest. And it's a slap in the face of people that they haven't rectified the missing third lord.
But they also need to rework the tech tree and so on, and I am not sure both things will happen at this point.
But I have also heard that The End Times won't be the end of support for TWW3 and that there are likely more DLCs to come
That's what CA is saying, if 3K is anything to go by that statement means nothing. There have been data leaks and speculations since there is quite a bit of stuff that they could add as lord packs, but we will see.

That is probably the most realistic outcome. With how massive the DLC sounds and even with the brutal delays of past DLC I don't think they can deliver a quality product until the end of August. But the can't just announce a delay since that would negatively affect public perception for the billionth time. Probably towards August we will get a blog or stream and the delay.

Still pissed they listened to the whiners on how muh Kislev and muh chinks required buffs when they're both just fine as they were (don't spam kossars only like a retard, mix with strelsi and tzar guards to bulk them up). If anything I thought the Kislev cavalry that weren't bears were weak as fuck even though they were supposedly a big part of their culture.

Data leaks also means nothing. People saw files for additional Amazonian units in Rome 2 and speculated that they'll probably add them as mercs in the new update. In the end none of them will be implemented and the "big" update for Rome 2 is just a glorified mod that'll break other mods.

There was a time in my life where I really enjoyed these games, however the combat AI is pretty retarded and so every fight becomes the same once you figure out the optimal army composition for your faction. I really wish there was a difficulty slider for campaign mode and battle mode, because I wouldn't mind giving the AI an advantage on the campaign board since it's pretty terrible at that, but not on the battle board. Or at least have the AI vanities in the Battle board be something other than their units just having more health and doing more damage than mine

Campaign and battle modifiers in TWW3 have been separate since launch, iirc. You can have AI with insane campaign modifiers and tons of army stacks but no buffs to their armies otherwise.

For anyone who wants to play Total War Warhammer but doesn't want to play Total War Warhammer, the Call of Warhammer: Beginning of The End Times mod for Medieval 2 Total War got a new update.

Both AAA gaming companies can be shit.

It's not that hard to make unique mechanics for a lot of these powers. It's also happy horseshit that they're recycling and upping poly counts of an older game map. They also consistently lowered settlement management over the years.

Paradox is grubbing and forcing people to try and brainlessly take passes for content they stole from fan mods usually. It also doesn't help that the new mechanics added often actively make the game worse as of late.

So yeah both suck ass.

Still pissed that CK3 still doesn't have engaging merchant Republic mechanics and Medieval 3 is to be more content bare to whore out for dlc.

I have a suspicion that Cathay was intentionally made to be:
  • Easy to play
  • Overpowered
  • Very chinese (TRUST ME on this one)
CA tries to court the chinkoid audience, but it's at the expense of the normal map gamers. You know it's bad when even ledditors complain about the chinese review bombs, which happen anytime CA tries to ruin their power fantasy (i.e. balance the game).
In particular, there's a bug where you can trick the post battle loot-calculator into giving you infinite gold by doing negative damage. Anytime CA tries to patch it the chinks revolt.

Haven't played Kislev much since launch but I think they've tried to make the bears less underwhelming. Fighting against Boris with Throt, the bears seemed decent but he does buff them.

8.1 patch is finally out. Improvements to campaign AI (remains to be seen), lots of bug fixes, changes to a bunch of things, and balance adjustments.
Barring a potential hotfix or two this the last patch before 9.0 and the End Times DLC.
Of course in classic CA fashion the stat adjustments included them accidently buffing the Masque's vigour drain instead of nerfing it, and leaving their test build shadow walkers with 4 different contact effects in the launch version.

Well to be fair Game Workshop is also trying to push Warhammer in China so that will reflect on CA. That's Cathay in a nutshell.

Not that its is entirely applicable here but that sort of happens with Slay the Spire 2 as fas I am aware.

We are apparently back to balance changes that don't get split up for SP and MP so you know it's going to be shit again.
and leaving their test build shadow walkers with 4 different contact effects in the launch version.
To be fair that is a good change, but they just should have rolled it out for everyone and then adjusted it for the End Times patch.

What do you mean by this, and why will it be shit?
Balance changes in the past were done universally in almost all cases. So for example if the Empire Steamtank got 10 extra armor that applied to the single player and multiplayer mode at the same time. But what kept happening was that the miniscule MP community would bitch and moan about their precious "balance", Creative Assembly would swing the nerf hammer down on everything fun. And I don't need to tell you that SP and MP are drastic different games. But the much larger SP crowd bitched back, and we started to see changes that were done for both game modes separately.

So the five people playing MP would have their dystopian "perfectly balanced game" and everybody else could run around with either hilariously broken shit and/or a lot more theory crafting for very specific armies in SP.

But CA were pretty inconsistent with this and if you look into the latest patch notes changes are universal.

So for example speed stacking for Slaanesh got nerfed. And as a universal change that's shit. MP players are most likely happy not to get gang banged within the first couple of seconds into their match but that nerf takes away from flavor and faction identity in SP since Slaanesh is all about massive movement and hit-and-run. And having the possibilities to make broken/overpowered army composition is a major fun factor.

But Tarmurkhan and Toad Dragons both got extra 2000 HP (among other buffs). Which was most likely done because Nurgle isn't doing to hot in most MP matchups. But those two are already massive tanky units that wipe the floor with most armies in SP and are even more buffed now. You could give the game to a toddler with a Toad Dragon doom stack, and he would win a Legendary campaign without breaking a sweat. And now it's even more powerful. There are countless other things in the Nurgle roster that could have gotten changes but not those two.

I hope that gives you an idea what the issue is.

It does, thank you. But I'm also one of those multiplayer fags (there are six of us, actually, not just five!) so its not as big of a deal for me. It is good for a game to have universal balance imo, and campaign power fantasies should arise from lord, tech, and faction buffs, not flatly OP units.

Have to disagree with that because MP and SP are so different from each other that universal changes hurt both in the end.

That is mostly correct and just plainly OP units make for boring campaign play. But outright removing the possibility to build unique armies because individual traits etc. cause massive imbalances in MP is just lazy and silly. If people want to play MP that's good for them, but their demands shouldn't have an adverse effect on my fun. But CA is also partially to blame because they also nerf stuff without the influence from the MP scene since they fail to make the most out of the lord, tech, and faction buffs and react negatively to anything fun.

Fair enough. But if it makes you feel any better the MP community is very careful about advocating for nerfing a unit/mechanic too hard because they don't want to be blamed for CA totally killing something. They're still catching flak for the ancient salamander nerfs like 6 years later and dont want something like that to happen again. Plus there is constant disagreement between people who play Land Battles and people who play Domination mode about which units/factions deserve nerfs lol.
