Melkor already came back a few times but he made it clear that it was just temporary, hence is irregular uploads. He is mostly busy with real life stuff and only makes videos when he has nothing better to do.

I found this clip of Legend arguing with his youtube chat.
Legend of Soyrage.mp4

Shorter clip of him raging at the end
SoyrageCut.mp4
I like Legend but damn, imagine being such an old guy, who has been on YouTube forever, only to end up feeding the trolls by getting this upset. :stress:
He also should just let go of his hair at this point.

His job is to play video games so people can watch him. Quiet the whining and play video.

Total War 40k will come with a jaw dropping four factions.

Well if WH3 is anything to go by those four factions will be bare bones and lacking a lot of features and units until the inevitable trillion DLC packs. The Space Marines will be egregiously milked. Someone might say that they made the sensible decision to not offer Chaos as a preorder DLC, but I think that is more due to the fact that CA is trying to avoid the obviously bad PR pitfalls. But Chaos is too important to be left out of the base factions, they should have just done what Dawn of War 1 did.

Well at least Eldar are in but probably lacking all the fun stuff. Can't wait for 2027-2030 when the game finally comes out.

I understand why they're making Space Marines and the Imperial Guard separate factions but aren't those niggas on the same side in the lore? For a Total War-STYLE game it'd make more sense if they were one faction as the Empire of Man, and had renegade chapters or planets just be part of some generic rebel factions or part of Chaos. Then again, every other WH40k strategy game, including grand strategies or 4Xs like WH40k Gladius, have the Guard and SM as separate factions so I'm bitching about nothing really.

They are the same side, but you can explain a conflict between the two just as Chaos influence if you want.

One thing that might work really well but won't happen would be the idea that TWWH had, you have your basic overarching faction but then subfactions that follow a specific path. So you could have Imperium of Man as one faction with all the toys like SP, IG, Marsboys etc. and subfactions would focus one on a particular faction, for example SP- Smurfs. Might even have to mix and match based on some points system so you can do wide or tall for something particular.

Infighting in the Imperium happens very frequently for reasons as simple as 'FUCK TAXES' to Marine chapters having hyper violent reactions to someone poking their nose into their sensitive business. It's common enough that forces will get contradicting information or are simply on different sides of a power struggle that turned violent.

Emperor help you if you happen to have stumbled across evidence of the Fallen as the Dark Angels will erase you and anyone who knew you from existence. The Space Wolves and Black Templars are notoriously anti-inquisition so they will stamp a hole in you if they suspect you of being their lapdogs. You can also just be someone who happens to have supplies the Marines Malevolent want but they're a hair's breadth from being branded renegades because of their incredible disdain for everyone else.

For the Imperial Guard its a simple answer, some Inquisitorial Lord pointed at the marines and said they're puppets of Chaos or renegades. The Marines will reply with a more flowery equivalent of "No U". Violence escalates.

Even in the Inquisition itself the infighting is so bad their representative to the High Lords frequently views being part of that gaggle of incompetent manchildren a vacation.

I wonder how will diplomacy work in 40k.
Jurnos and other tourists screach how bad Imperium is , but try to have diplomacy with xeno that only wants to murder rape you then ressurect your corpse and do it again and again. And when said Xeno is bored he will turn your broken body into chair.

Micropose is publishing a game called Strategos. It looks like it's mainly historical skirmish battles instead of part map painter based on this trailer but the combat part looks very Total War.
Early access launch tomorrow. I'm hoping Micropose can pull it off because it would be nice to have a new thing to fall back to if/when 40k and Med3 kill the series for good.

The couriers for potential changing of orders makes for a very interesting facet for this. So far looks like a beefy RTW mod. The lack of any strategic "layer" for the rest of the campaign does make me wonder if it will have as much staying power. I know there was plenty of RTW battle games but most people play the campaigns instead.

At least personally I don't need the strategic map part to be absurdly deep but just allow for some extra consideration to the importance of battles and the campaigns.

I tuned in for <30 seconds of the Attila stream and he was having a cringe worthy discussion/rant on ancient religions. He reminds me of wings, pretending to be an expert on every topic. People who play videogames all day are not respected as intellectuals.
Yeah he's probably best off cashing his winnings and staying the fuck away from YT. He attained lolcow status with his viewers and is physically turning into DSP.

Legend is miserable.

Total war games need more objectively shit characters.

You have been ambushed by an army of DENTS

KING PHILLIP THE PIOUS

20260403_193817.jpg

Command: 10 /10
Chivalry: 10 / 10
Loyalty: 10 / 10
Piety: 9 / 10

Traits:
Religiously Proper (+9 Piety)
Unstoppable Commander (+9 Command)
Master Beggar (+1 Command, +500% on trade income)

UNITS:
10 Wheelchair Cavalry
20 Sperger Spearmen
15 Blinded Archers

ODDS: 1 : 6 (You are very unlikely to win this battle)

Let me know what your opinions of this sort of diplomacy system. I originally came up with it after seeing all the shit with the CB's in EU5 and other paradox games, but I think it could apply to Total War Medieval 3 since they appear to be starting from scratch, and I know from experience that old Total War Medieval and Shogun 2 diplomacy is dogshit

Basically, we would have 2 types of casus belli/war declaration reasons

Justified Casus Belli: casus belli which either does not reduce reputation or can add to reputation / diplomatic standing with other nations
- Enforcing rightful/former claims (conquer a legitimate claim you once held or starting territory)
- Protecting citizens (retaliation for attacking merchants, diplomats, cardinals, princesses, etc)
- Enforcing broken treaty obligations (covers alot, breaking vassal agreements, trade protection, blockade, violating truces)
- Retaliation (for unsuccessful/successful: assassination, abduction, raids, ambushes...)
- Enthroning/Restoring foreign claimant (putting a leader on the throne of a foreign nation, or occupying a certain amount of territory of rightful land on their behalf)
- Expel foreign army from rightful territory (punishing an army for moving through territory without permission)
- Holy War (conquering lands from a heretic or foreign faith)
- Called in by Ally (sounds just like it reads)
- War to check belligerent conqueror (becomes available when a nation becomes a certain size/province limit, or perhaps even conquest speed)

Unjustified Casus Belli: casus belli which objectively damages reputation and lowers diplomatic opinion
- No Casus Belli (attacking without any justified reason)
- Breaking treaty obligations (sounds like it reads)
- Holy War (people from the defender's faith will see it as unjustified, but not those who share or don't have the faith)
- Exposed false flag (In my opinion, you should be able to fabricate false-flags, and a successful one will create a justified casus belli, but an unsuccessful one + declaration of war should cause the penalties)
- Deposing pious head of faith (mainly for catholic nations)

You guys can probably see the paradox-isms, but I still think they could work for total war. I do think total war should focus significantly less on the strategy aspects of course, but diplomacy always annoys me in the older games.

Anyhow, what do you guys think?

Sounds like a cool system that would enrich something that previously was just pressing a single button. This also means CA is most likely never going to implement something like it in any of their games.

Well at least he realised how cringe he became and left...
I give him three months.
Damn he actually touched grass and stayed away.

I appreciate that. Even if it's not fruitful or impactful in anyway, I do enjoying thinking about it for games I like.

Diplomacy especially, since it was so dogshit for over a decade. So hopefully Medieval 3 will implement either the Three Kingdoms diplomacy mechanics or something like I suggested
