So here's the thing. I've never played this series so I don't know how It works.

Let's say I buy this for the space marines only. They come out with chaos dlc. I want to fight them but not play them.

I still have to buy the dlc?

nah same goes for fantasy total war. but if something comes out for a faction you play you won't get those units to recruit

No, and if they keep any ally mechanics from Warhammer 3, you might even be able to use units from allies even if you don’t have the DLC for that ally, though we will have to see how diplomacy works. 40k has much less cross-faction cooperation than fantasy.

It's amazing how dead on arrival the anouncement was. Should focus on trying to save World War I
I'm not sure what there's to declare dead. It's a CGI trailer with mockups of rulers talking. I'm not convinced its even a quarter ready to go or they'd show even the briefest snippets of something.

Is there even a reason to install WH3?
If you enjoy playing the Mortal Empires campaign, they mashed up all 3 into one big map with all the different races and demons.

Personally, I just like to make interesting battles in the skirmish mode and then sit back and watch the replays if the fight was particularly good.

I think it runs marginally better than WH2, at least during the battles. It's mostly dependent on if you want a bigger campaign or you like skirmish mode like me.

This is the one change I wouldn’t actually mind as Medieval 1 had a pretty clean campaign map experience and functioned similarly enough. Maybe they’ve finally given up on the jankiness of free army movement and the balancing mess of skills and character abilities that fuck with movement range, given the only real loss would be ambushes.
Agreed.

They never really fixed the main problem the Rome1 map introduced ie: having to chase small armies all over the place to fucking properly control your territory..

Also, if you controlled or at least weren't being actively opposed, you could move armies by sea in a single year instead of slogging around for a fucking decade to get your legions to egypt.

Missed opportunity to make a game on the Victorian era.
Should've been on the agenda after Empire/Napoleon. Really portraying the scope would've been a challenge because there is the whole split between massive, mobilised armies clashing (e.g. ACW, Austro-Prussian War) versus often small, technologically extremely advanced European forces stomping much larger armies of non-whites.

Its literally an era defined by its peace and short regional wars.

Makes no sense.
The Boshin War is probably the only one where the TW version had vastly more casualties than the real thing, yet Fall of the Samurai is one of the best TW campaigns.

Yeah, the actual Boshin War was pretty short and sweet. You had the one big battle at Toba-Fushimi where the Shogunate tried to forcefully restore itself after having already been evicted from power, but since almost nobody was willing to openly defy Imperial authority on the matter once the Emperor actually started invoking it everything collapsed almost immediately after that.

Not even 10k dead total on account of what a joke of a "war" it was.

What exactly are the issues y'all have with WH3 other than the excessive DLC?
If you ask this question you either bait, are too stupid to exist or haven't played more then a couple of hours.
Whatever the reason, you do not deserve an actual answer, simply contempt, derision and ol' reliable "fuck off, nigger faggot!".

y'all ?
And the issues have been debated and presented numerous times now. This year again was a brilliant time to observe it, around October, for example. The game is almost 4 years old and apart from 2024 every year since release there was always something going on. Either you didn't pay attention or this is a shitty attempt to bait.
