The most replaceable trash on earth tries to self terminate with something that intrinsically can't work. That's what retardedly trying to unionize e-fame is in a nutshell.
You're absolutely right. One of the points Melkor made in his video went something along the lines of 'What are they going to do, just pay people to play TW as fake youtubers?' - Yes they are. I see pre-roll adverts for mobile games all the time that are set up with some faggot's facecam in the corner, pretending it's some sort of livestream while he hypes about opening pay2win crates. They don't seem to realise that CA don't really want to deal with them, and would rather them just be paid shills.

Any other nigga here still play the historical titles? I recently finished an Attila campaign as the Burgundians. Had fun. Attila is underrated and I'm not saying this because I'm a cavalryfag and Attila is a game where cavalry is as busted as it was in Medieval 2, no siree. I wonder what to do next. I've been thinking of firing up Europa Barbarorum and play as a barbarian faction, anyone got experience with how to play those? So far I've only played with successor states and nomadic factions.

Realistically they don't even have to get fake youtubers, just prop up some smaller ones with things like exclusive access and other perks to make them competitive with the more established people.

Some thoughts of TWW3 from a total war autist:
  • I had heard that people had been experiencing bugs, but my first playthrough as Kislev was OK... until I lost the race for one of the souls and eventually had to stop an AI faction from winning the campaign. I stop them, it tells me I have 15 turns until they can try again, 6 turns later, I get a message out of nowhere saying that they've won. Fortunately, I had to go back only one turn to stop them again.
  • So, then I rush to get my last soul... 6 turns later, it tells me I lose again, so I have to abandon that realm and fuck them up again. I go back to the realm to find out my progress has reset. Eventually, I power through it in time and get my last soul. The game tells me I have to go to The Forge of Souls to win, only The Forge of Souls is no longer an option to warp to. I check the forums and this is a known issue. You cannot finish the campaign if you fall behind and then catch up. I suspect it has to do with the fact that someone getting 4 souls causes infinite rifts to appear, but normally you can only get one soul per set of rifts.
  • So I figure "whatever, it happens, CA is a small team". I load up a Slaanesh campaign. Chariots don't work right; they don't do the appropriate amount of damage on collision. The faction as a whole feels kind of half baked; their best line infantry melt like a popsicle in the sun when what they needed was a unit that could last a while in the scrum to allow your fast flankers to get around the side. Speed is a good stat, but it can't be the only gimmick a faction has. It's also a tiny roster--3 types of marauders and 3 types of chariots and 3 types of calvalry, all of which are only minor variations on the others, can't make up 2/3 the available units. Guarantee you they worked on this one last and ran out of time, hence the copy pasting.
  • "Charge reflection" is bugged, which means you can't attack spears from any angle with calvalry without getting destroyed on the charge.
  • Infantry aren't responding right. I used to be able to dodge spells reliably, but even with pausing they don't react fast enough to get out of the way. This is independent of unit speed; it's like they're trying to move in formation instead of getting in formation as they're moving like they used to.
  • Missile infantry are fucked too. It used to be that you could hit anything in the firing cone without having to move; now the center of the unit needs to reorient itself to face the unit it's shooting at instead of just the entities in the unit. This even applies to single entity artillery; every new target requires moving for some reason, no matter how close it is to the last target.
  • Campaign mechanics aren't as bad as people are saying, but yes, the rifts are annoying.
  • Graphics are fine, but the animations remain disappointing. There's some weird shimmering. It would be nice if they'd synced some more animations so it looks like units are actually hitting each other instead of just the air near each other.
  • Collision damage and knockdown remain kind of fucked. You'll notice it if you try to run down infantry with calvary after a battle; it takes like a minute+ to kill the last couple entities in a unit because they just keep getting knocked around. IMO, if you get launched by a bear or a dragon, you should take damage.
  • It is super clear they ran out of time to make this game work properly. Everyone is rightfully nervous that they do the Paradox thing and just pile on content instead of fixing it. I think everyone was hoping they'd put this on a new engine, but it's the same old shitter they've been using since Rome II, I think.
  • There are a bunch of things that were fixed in WH2 that didn't make it into WH3. I can only assume they forked the last game at an earlier point to make this one and ran out of time to merge the changes into the release build.
  • For best results, play Kislev, Cathay, Ogres or Tzeentch, at least until a patch comes out.
  • Fun game; super broken right now. It's going to be 6+ months until they can do the combined map. I predict they won't get the blood DLC out until June, and even then, I'm guessing it will be the same old thing with way too much blood covering your units.

Yeah, just conquered the world with my longbow-boys in Med2.
I want to like Attila more than I do, but I've barely touched it since I painted the map with WRE a couple of years ago.

Double post. Couldn't figure out how to bake them together on mobile, sorry

That's the same cycle they developed with the current crop of TW Youtubers though. Giving the small creators early access to games people want to see grows the audience of that creator, which then grows their ego, which then leads to a ginger spastic in a fez talking about a Youtuber Union.

What CA want is someone who will uncritically repeat their marketing either for free, or for the smallest fee possible.

Ooh, haven't tried that in a looong while. Has it been updated/worked on recently?
Err, recently? Early Feb is the latest update. So if you really haven't played for a long while, as in before they added the campaign, yes.

Definitely not played it this year. Maybe not even since February last year. Gonna check it out when I've got a few days off

This year's big update added a bunch of new stuff, a lot of reworked rosters. They added mercs to the game finally, so far they're all T1 troops so they're obsolete in the mid and late campaign but early campaign is where you'll need mercs the most anyway imo.

A shill union sounds pretty funny, would never work since there is always someone who will deepthroat Brand cock for less than you (or even free). Didn't CA hire a bunch of Chinese bugman shills that basically shat all over the game too?

Also when are they removing deunvo so I can pirate this shit.

I play Medieval 2 and Empire with Darthmod mostly.

I'm currently doing a Portugal campaign in Medieval 2 with the Stainless Steel mod, its stupidly hard at least for me haha.

Still playing Shogun 2. Currently taking a break since the laptop loves to shit itself everyday.

As for the entire Total War Youtuber thing. It's honestly a fuckfest. Yes Volound may be a boring cunt but he's a respectable cunt in a sense that he showed how braindead nu-TW players are. Not to mention, him mentioning the subreddit made me curious about it and it was absolutely not worth a visit. It basically became a WH+CW wankfest. If anything, TW on Youtube lands on 2 extremes: massive shills who have to kneel down and suck CW's dick for profit and those that trash the newer titles regurgitating the same thing.

I sometimes play Rome: Remastered since it compiles both expansion packs still. I also still have a deep fondness for Europa Barbarorum, a beautiful mod that really makes the game better if a shitload more difficult to manage. Medieval 2: Kingdoms with mods is also amazing.
