How the fuck is $18 expensive? Sledge hammers are cheap. How poor are you? I have one kicking around in case I have to demolish another wall or renovate a room. I've had it since I did some demo work for a temp job. It's good exercise too. The long handle blacksmith hammers can better better depending on what you're taking down. Again, they're only $18 down there. Just go to Ace Hardware.

I was talking about an excavator, not hand tools. I have a short handled mallet i use for cracking rocks and we have several long handled sledges. Personally, for demolition, I prefer a reciprocating saw. I can do a lot more damage in a lot less time and a tiny fraction of the effort with one of those and a good pry bar. We get better prices and selection at Harbor Freight and Grainger than ace. Albert bought the cheaper one and we're going to go grab the bigger one tomorrow. we have a bobcat for the weekend.

The big lot with the trees is his father's. That's all getting set up as a family arts center with fabricating shop , recording studio and gardens.
