I honestly only know about American politics from what I read on the Internet but since we all love shitting on leftists I figured we'd get a kick out of this. Also it's trending on Twitter so you know it's important.

NEW YORK — Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a 28-year-old political novice running on a low budget and an unabashedly liberal platform, upset longtime U.S. Rep. Joseph Crowley on Tuesday in the Democratic congressional primary in New York.

The surprise victory by the community organizer in a district that includes parts of the Bronx and Queens came after an energetic, grassroots campaign that mustered more than enough support in a low-turnout race that many had expected to be an easy win for Crowley, a member of the Democratic House leadership.

“The community is ready for a movement of economic and social justice. That is what we tried to deliver,” said Ocasio-Cortez, who has never held elected office and whose candidacy attracted only modest media attention.

She told The Associated Press after her victory that she didn’t have enough money to do polling in the race, but felt in her gut that her message had a chance to connect.

“I live in this community. I organized in this community. I felt the absence of the incumbent. I knew he didn’t have a strong presence,” she said.

Crowley has been in Congress since 1999 and hadn’t faced an opponent in a primary election since 2004, when Ocasio-Cortez was just a teenager. He was considered a candidate to become the next House speaker if Democrats win the majority.

“It’s not about me,” Crowley, 56, told his supporters at a campaign party following his loss. “It’s about America. I want nothing but the best for Ms. Ocasio-Cortez. I want her to be victorious.”

He later played guitar with a band at the election night gathering, and dedicated the first song, Bruce Springsteen’s “Born to Run,” to Ocasio-Cortez.

Crowley represents New York’s 14th Congressional District, where he is also the leader of the Queens Democratic party.

Ocasio-Cortez was outspent by an 18-1 margin during her race but won the endorsement of some influential groups on the party’s far left, including MoveOn, as well as the actress Cynthia Nixon, who is running for governor. She defeated Crowley by 15 percentage points.

Born in the Bronx to a mother from Puerto Rico and a father who died in 2008, Ocasio-Cortez said she decided to challenge Crowley to push a more progressive stance on economic and other issues.

She attended Boston University, where she earned degrees in economics and international relations, and also spent time working in the office of the late U.S. Sen. Edward Kennedy.

After graduating, she returned to the Bronx where she became a community organizer. In the 2016 presidential campaign she worked for U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders.

Among her issues is expanding the Medicare program to people of all ages and abolishing Immigrations and Customs Enforcement. She recently went to Tornillo, Texas, to protest against policies that have separated parents from their children at the southern U.S. border.

Ocasio-Cortez gained some internet attention for a campaign video called “The Courage to Change,” a two-minute spot for which she wrote the script and featured footage from her own home.

Crowley is chair of the House Democratic Caucus, the fourth-highest ranking position in Democratic leadership in that chamber of Congress.

His loss drew the attention of President Donald Trump.

“Wow! Big Trump Hater Congressman Joe Crowley, who many expected was going to take Nancy Pelosi’s place, just LOST his primary election. In other words, he’s out! That is a big one that nobody saw happening. Perhaps he should have been nicer, and more respectful, to his President!” he tweeted.

The Republican candidate for the office, Anthony Pappas, is running unopposed and had no primary. Pappas teaches economics at St. John’s University.

She was a Bernie campaigner, is supported by BLM, and wants to abolish Immigrations and Customs Enforcement. Also this was in a solid-blue Congressional District so you know she's a shoo-in for next Congress.

But hey, we did get to see Trump laugh at Crowley on Twitter.

I'm not even sure what white supremacy is anymore.
The term "White Supremacy" has been twisted to mean anything normative or general standards in western countires. An old black man going "pull yo pants up" is in effect supporting white supremacy, prioritizing white cultural standards over others. A republican Asian is also a white supremacist, since conservatives want to uphold what are seen as white norms and standards.

Now this would mean things like "human rights" and "abolotionism" are also white supremcaist, but no one wants to go there.

I'm counting the days until some progtard publicly makes that argument when "Russian conspiracy" isn't enough to dash Tulsi's popularity. I'm just waiting for some leftist rag to pick up steam on condemning all Hindus as an evil religion because that's what they think will get them a win.
Its not going to be a full on demonization of hindus, but specifically Hare Krishnas and the off shoot Tulsi's family is connected to. They have been accused of being a cult for years, and have a litany of scandals, including covering up for child molestation. Hare Krishas were a commonly mocked in the 70's and 80's when they were the most aggressive in evangelizing the loving lord Krishna, usually at airports. Expect those old jokes to be dredged up as well, the boomers will at least get it.

Racist? It's been done to death

Sexist? Ditto

Nazi even has been tossed around so much is become a joke.

So now they're using the old white supremacist thing to push folks emotions.

I'm curious as to what's next? Blue dog? Cubist? Philistine?

Lord knows they have no creativity so it will probably suck.

Oh well.

One time I was jacking it in my room when my roommate busted in and was like "Shit homes, this new mortal kombat game is dicks a- oh. Sorry."

It was from that moment I knew deep down in my heart, he was a white supremacist trying to kink shame me to death. This is what happens when you put concentration camps in America!!

White supremacy is actually really easy to define, especially in this most recent instance. Its a bit disingenuous to claim that the definition of white supremacy has been watered down and muddied when shooters keep posting manifestos where their aims are made explicitly clear.

White supremacy includes the belief that whites are superior to other races, that "western civilization" cannot be continued to by non-whites, and that violence is justified in keeping a country majority-white. White supremacists view non-whites as invaders in their country (even when they're here legally) and view high birthrates amongst non-whites as a fundamental threat that must be up-ended through either political or violent means. A white supremacist's political ideology and beliefs are driven by a direct desire to keep whites a majority at all costs. None of this is particularly new or very deep.

The only new idea being put on the table here is that pandering directly to white supremacists is a winning political ideology. And it is, until the body count gets high enough. As Trump/the GOP turn out to not be able to magically reverse decades-long demographic trends like their supporters want them to, more disenfranchised whites radicalized by the internet to think that their personal happiness depends on how many white babies their women are popping out will continue to amass body counts.

As more innocents are slaughtered, the people who think its unfair that they're being called nazis for either supporting the ideology or not thinking its that big a deal will find it harder and harder to wiggle their way out of actually taking a moment to reflect on the outcomes of their ideologies. This is where the "well you called me a nazi so much I just BECAME one" fallacy enters the equation. If it comes down to you believing that its okay to kill non-whites to maintain a demographic majority in your country, yeah. You're a white supremacist. Many people want to try to find grey areas about the specific definitions but at this point its pretty much black and white (lol)

I don't know if it is put into practice but there's been talk about putting the strongest antibiotics into a rotating system, always benching one of them so that bacteria can't build up and maintain resistance against all of them. Maybe we will come full circle with the slurs, the old ones were just out of rotation and in the 2028 Democratic primary debates someone will turn to their ultra-prog opponent and accuse them of sounding like a fag. All of America quakes but they know it is true.

that "western civilization" cannot be continued to by non-whites,
Are there any successful examples of a white country handing it's future over to non-europeans and keeping the same quality of life or better?

I mean South Africa wound up having the ANC be worse than what was there before and on top of that they can't even hold the country together.

It's been ages since I've seen this many leaps in logic. "Republicans are pandering to massive amounts of white supremacists, but there aren't that many, but when suddenly there are forty bajillion Nazis and when normal people are called Nazis for not obsessing over Nazis they will magically become Nazis instead of rightfully just being annoyed. Oh, by the way, white supremacists are only people who believe in killing minorities instead of limiting immigration and/or legal deportations, so there are actually an absurdly small amount of Nazis."

Good performance.

Only asking because I'm morbidly curious, but....

I do not think it is ok to kill non-whites to maintain a demographic majority. In fact, I think that race-mixing is probably the preferable way to avoid genetic impurities and build a healthy society (:optimistic: free of racial strife :optimistic:). However, since I also think that immigration should be confined to legal methods and that abortion is fundamentally murder (and also Planned Parenthood is a soft eugenics program against black Americans) that is enough to have me be called a nazi plenty of times.

So am I a Nazi/White Supremacist or not? I don't follow any of the tenets associated with Hitler or National Socialism, but I refuse to perform rhetorical acrobatics to dodge a slur thrown by people who don't even know what it means.

You're not a nazi. You're pretty much just a standard conservative. Unfortunately you're catching flak for what the more extreme members of your side are doing. Your political leanings have essentially been hijacked to provide cover for extremists. Today's nazis don't call themselves nazis, for obvious reasons. They instead choose more gentle terms, like white identitarian, white nationalist, nationalist conservative, etc. They rely on people saying "oh well you just call everyone you don't like a nazi" to defend them. If you're getting called one you don't have to pretend to be one just to score gotcha points against libtards. Purge the fucking fash from your ranks.

I think the whole racial thing is just a front to get easy votes from the folks who rally behind such things. It wasn't all that long ago that it was the Democrats calling for a fence along the boarder to prevent illegal immigration because they thought that by having a high influx of immigrants into the country, their unions would have a harder time negotiating for wages when businesses could just hire low-wage workers. Now that the economic portion of the left has lost its control to the ethno-socialist portion, they just see that most immigrants vote Democrat their first time and want to flood as many of them in as they can to secure a domination of the House for the foreseeable future. It's one of the reasons they're pushing so hard for the electoral college to be abolished and have the vote rely solely upon the popular vote. If they did manage it, citizens would have no meaningful representation within their own country's legislative process. The problem is that they're so caught up rallying for the minority vote that they don't realize that they would be taken down along with their opponents on the right during the replacement process. All of that is before we start taking into account the issues of intentional foreign intervention with the guns for drugs trade back and forth between Mexico and the USA or how any superpower competing with America on the global scale would have all the incentive in the world to send as many of their nationalists over to sway the country's actions in favor of their own.

You don't think they are? At my college even fucking TPUSA, who constantly got in a dumb pissing match with the DSA over putting their posters over one another on the announcement boards, kicked out a spergy "fascist but not a Nazi" kid.

Are leftists expected to unabashedly shun and kick out tankies (not even commies)? The DSA's doing a pretty piss poor job of that if they are.
