That was the most drama on a launch since the early ones when it seemed they were burning up on landing. What a drama-fest. Dan the SpaceX announcer's voice was shaking at the end, first time I've heard that. He sounded legit like he was gonna pass out.SHE'S IN ORBIT
Cooling is still the biggest potential show-stopper. Space is an ideal insulator. The only cost is building the equipment and then getting it there.
They just mentioned that SpaceX has established communication with all 26 of the new satellites. Sounds like good preliminary news on that front. Those V3 Starlinks are big news in and of itself. If they work properly, SpaceX may very well be able to build these orbital data centers they've been talking about. Which would absolutely cream Amazon web services, since the real estate in space is free and so is the energy. The only cost is building the equipment and then getting it there.
Fully reusable yes. Falcon 9 does all the time but the 2nd stage always burns up.Am I misreading or is this really the first time SpaceX reusable rockets have made it to orbit? Have all the previous tests been suborbital?
I wonder what the reasoning is for itFully reusable yes. Falcon 9 does all the time but the 2nd stage always burns up.
The just said they'll deorbit early in about in about 40 minutes going to off Hawaii instead of Chili.

There's a couple things it could be. They used more fuel to get to orbit because of the lack of performance from the engine out.I wonder what the reasoning is for it
Yes, tons of drama during launch. They did one orbit instead of six, just did the re-entry burn so it's coming back one way or the other now. Pretty much everything worked out, but it was tense. No explanation of why only 1 full orbit but I expect it's due to that shutdown. They'll probably explain that later on.Shit I missed it! Still all good though?
So not planning on six orbits? But it will orbit at least once? (sorry I am watching from beginning for launch, catching up)
