To each their own, I guess. Personally, I found the controls not that difficult to master. I liked that Lara could easily fall off the ledge if you make the wrong step, so you have to be focused and actually think where to go and what to climb on. Crystal made TR more automatic and linear, which is fine, but I miss the challenge the Core games provided. They didn't have any scripted events or a map that highlights everything.

Honestly, The Last Revelation and Angel of Darkness still have some of the best stories in the franchise and impressive cutscenes for the time. Maybe the writing is corny but it felt more organic for the 90s.

The new mobile game "Tomb Raider: Reloaded" is absolutely horrible. No substance or fun to this mess. You'd think with phones having great processors and up to 12 gigs of RAM we'd have something amazing, but comparable to the classics. First drama of the year (not really) involves an ongoing witch hunt against the original TR composer Nathan Mccree. This was related to his KS campaign that was allegedly a scum.

basically what happened now, is a fan made a TR1 theme tribute and Nathan demanded to be credited. However, fans accused him of being petty.


He apologized eventually but still believes people do not credit his stuff appropriately. That includes the composer of TR4-6, Peter Connelly, whom Nathan hates, apparently. See, Dean worked with Peter for AOD soundtrack remaster, so people suspect this is why Nathan's after him...As you can see, there're lots to unpack here.
