I joined back in 2018 based off an Encyclopedia Dramatica page on one of the forums staff, Les Six. I was banned for zero reasons and to be frank, I regret being on the Tomb Raider forums. Surprise surprise, even the people over at the official Tomb Raider reddit page cannot stand the forums over there for the exact same reasons.

Decided to give Tomb Raider: Anniversary a whirl. Forgot how fun these games used to be when you weren't forced to spend 40% of the time murdering people, 50% collecting bear asses, and 10% watching cutscenes.
Shit, Samus is still as attractive nowadays as she was before.
The mid-2000s trilogy is sooo good. Crystal Dynamics did a great job with that trilogy prior to Squeenix's buyout. Underworld has got to be my favorite, but Anniversary is the best out of the mid-2000s trilogy. Something Squeenix forgot about once they rebooted the main franchise. This is the Lara I miss, even if she was regulated to her spinoffs until 2015.

Seriously, L.A.U. Trilogy is underrated and had a misfortune to come out during the time when the market was changing rapidly and Eidos had no idea how to market it. The art design and stylized combat stand out more now when every game has to have the same photorealistic look it's honestly became tiresome...

The trilogy all comes together in a single package that's very easy and cheap to find as far as physical copies go.
It's also universally praised among foot fetisists for the Peru levels.
Dan Schneider would've loved the Peru level.
Corny jokes aside, Underworld also had an amazing composition (though it's not like every Tomb Raider game isn't consistent with their musical scores, even Angel of Darkness, Rise, and Shadow still have respective great soundtracks at the end of the day despite them being dogshit games, though if we're talking about films, XL's composition in the 2018 film reboot felt more like the Junkie XL best of compilation as with a few other films prior and after; films like Alita, Sonic, and Mad Max had much better composition from him).
By the time Squeenix purchased the game rights (as well as Crystal Dynamics and the whole Eidos library), they wanted to make it too much like an Uncharted clone but as more safe and neutered as possible. A shame really cause the first three and Legend-Underworld trilogy were absolutely better in every right than Uncharted (even though I loved Uncharted 1-3).

I didn't get to finish it because of a save file issue, but I actually did enjoy the first rebooted tomb rider. Thought they were actually building her up to be a badass character and from my impressions it stood well enough on its own as a gritty prequel.
The sequels... its like they forgot the kind of shit she went though in the first one. She should be this PTSD driven killing machine, but they want to make her a plucky female Nathan drake. It doesn't work and the tone is just all over the dam place.

Honestly, I'd rather Nintendo buy them than Microsoft, if only because:
1) I don't want Microsoft owning every choice IP under the sun anymore than I want Disney doing so.
2) I don't particularly think Microsoft would do better with Eidos/Squeenix Europe than Squeenix themselves are doing and they've already got a lot on their plate, what with all the other acquisitions and their recent gobbling of Bethesda, which will probably take them years to digest.
3) Nintendo could use some more western IPs and developers with western tastes so that they don't always have to rely on Retro Studios for that. That, and Nintendo would probably beat some well needed quality control and give some real leadership to Eidos.
